Peyton. There was debate between he and Brady going into the year....imo, no longer.

Playoffs are a different story as Brady has had more success, but I dont see how he is better than Manning in any way, shape, or form.

Brees, Rodgers and Rivers need to do it for the long haul.

I'd take Manning now. A couple of years ago I'd have taken Brady. But I'd take Favre needing a score late in the 4th quarter.

Wouldn't Stephen A. pick Donovan McNabb and then complain if racism because his man was not on the list? :D

Big Ben is not the best but has to be considered to be in the conversation

Gotta be top 5 first :D

1. Manning
2. Brady
3. Brees
4. Rivers
5. Rodgers

Then guys like Favre, Manning, Big Ben, Schaub, Romo start to enter the debate. Big Ben is a very good QB and a heck of a playmaker in the clutch. But the best QB in the league he is not, and has a few players to jump over still.

Manning, then Brees, then Rivers, then McNabb.

It took a few years of Brady/Manning stupidity, but maybe fans of football have finally learned that team success is based off points scored AND points allowed; one side of the ball can only go so far.

Ben is a tremendous competitor. He is not the fastest or the best passer but he tends to win a lot but Peyton is good every year and just has more natural athletic skills than anyone else in the conversation. These guys are all fantastic athletes and great quarterbacks but I have to vote for Peyton.

Gotta be Peyton Manning. He is probably playing the position at a higher level than anybody else in the history of the game. I still can't believe there were people who would have drafted Ryan Leaf ahead of him.

Top 5:
1. Peyton Manning

2. Drew Brees
3. Phillip Rivers (agree with the MVP sentiments too)
4. Tom Brady
5. Donovan McNabb

Manning is the clear choice at this point.

With regard to Favre though, I think the whole "will he ever retire" saga he goes through every year has really overshadowed just how remarkably he has played the past 3 seasons.

Outside of a 5 game stretch last year where he had the torn Bicep (He was a stud in the 11 games prior to it), he has played the past 3 seasons statistically near the levels he did 15 years ago when he was winning MVP's.

At 40 years old he is going to end up with over 4,000 yards passing, 30 touchdowns, a QB rating over 100, and under 10 ints. Not to mention the fact he has now played in over 300 straight games (including playoffs). It really is something special. He might have Adrian Peterson, but that receiving core looked downright pedestrian the past few years with Tavaris under center and Favre has made them look like All-Pro's. That was with no training camp showing up 2 weeks before the season started.

There was a time I hated Favre, but I have come to really appreciate him. His act may grow tired off the field, but between the lines there are few players I enjoy watching more now than "the old gun slinger". The rest of America obviously agrees, because the Vikings have had some of the highest rated games this season between the 2 Favre bowls and the MNF classic. Throw in that epic game winning TD throw to Lewis and he has had a wild season for someone who was supposed to be nothing more than a care taker who might throw 20 times a game.
