How about this? Who thinks bringing Tom Heckert (Philadelphia current GM) to be our new GM would be a hell of a first move? His name has come up for the position. I know leaving Philly for Cleveland is NOT the logical choice for him, but Holmgren does have good ties with him. The guy is a walking genius when it comes to evaluating college players and the draft. I believe he also has some sort of ties to Cleveland. And we all know Lerner's checkbook is plenty full of $$$. With 11 draft picks and more than likely a few more if we move a couple guys for picks and also plenty of money to burn via free agency. I could see this being a decent move for him. Opinions?

I don't know much about the guy, but I'm not sure if he or Andy Reid should get the recognition for the talent evaluation. Reid makes the final decision.

Here is a good read of the possibility.

Of those potential FA QB's, what about Pennington? He probably could run a WCO...just a thought, what do you think?

I think Quinn could run the WC offense. I still believe we havn't seen enough of him nor has he had enough time to prove how good he can be. He hasn't had a full season of starts yet. He definately has the brains to pick up the offense. Troy Smith is a restricted FA and the ratbirds don't want to part with him.

Pathetic.

DA's contract is not friendly. He will be owed something like a $7 million roster bonus in March if he's kept. So you can kiss him goodbye now.
Good riddance DA. One of the dumbest NFL quarterbacks to ever don a uni.

Who was the last Browns QB to be selected to the Pro Bowl?
hint: it wasn't Brady Quinn.

It wasnt DA either. Unless you count selected as like the 3rd alternate.

Hmm, DA had the perfect storm. Possibly the easiest Browns schedule in a long time that year, Braylon and Winslow actually making tough catches and bailing Anderson out. Remember that was the year where Braylon was just making ridiculous catch after catch, but dropping the easy ones lol. And finally he was an alternateto the max.

He was the 1st alternate and he played in the Pro Bowl hence making him a Pro Bowler. Deal with it!!!!!

You are correct he was a Pro Bowler, but I am also correct in saying he shit his pants at the end of the season costing us a playoff spot.

He was also a HUGE factor in putting the team in a position to be in the Playoffs.

Being in the positions is telling me that we never made the playoffs.

Cleveland's schedule was very easy that season, as the team had the NFC West to play against with ARI 8-8, SF 5-11 and STL 3-13. Ravens with 5-11, Bengals 7-9, Dolphins 1-15.

I could go on, but that schedule was a joke. There was absolutely no reason why Cleveland shouldn't have made the playoffs. Well one reason, our QB decided to fall apart and toss 4 INT's against the Bengals.

Facts are both players aren't very good at the moment. Anderson has had the most time to prove his worth, had a good season and then totally bombed. Quinn hasn't been good consistently but he hasn't played on the field consistently in his career. I wouldn't be upset with having Quinn as the QB next season and I wouldn't be upset to see Cleveland bring in a QB via FA. I would be very upset if Cleveland used their 1st rounder to draft a QB though.

Deal with what? I dont really care how he made the pro-bowl, I know he made it. I also know he wasnt initially on the team. I also know he has bombed since then and I dont want him to be the QB going forward. I know Quinn has been awful as well, but based on game highlights it seems pretty clear to me Quinn would be much better suited than DA in the WCO.

Why is Lerner considered an egomaniac? Why is the new GM considered an egomaniac when we don't even know who he is? Pointless comment...

Us Browns fans know a good football man when we see one. It's pretty simple. You, on the other hand, should really not post on this subject. You really look stupid.
