Think they didn't make a bowl then because there were a few fewer bowls back then, so when you were a small-conference team, you had to be better than bowl eligible to have a legit shot at getting into one. I mean, now, with all the bowls there are, if you have enough wins over D-I teams, you're likely to get in unless you're a 6-5/7-5 type from the MAC or Sun Belt just because there's always a couple bigger schools on probation to open up a couple more spots.

What a fucking joke MAC refs are. They just gave Buffalo a safety for an intentional grounding. Tettleton threw the ball at the 4 yard line. The spot of the ball apparently cannot be reviewed

Watching this game...holy shit are these MAC refs horrible

Just called a safety on intentional grounding because Tettleton was in the endzone....except he was 4 yards out of the endzone. Yet the play isn't reviewable. So 2 points to Buffalo. Unreal

Also, the first Buffalo TD came after a horrible review of a fumble by OU. It was so fucking blatantly clear that his knee was down, yet EVEN AFTER A REVIEW they still called it a fumble. SMH

These refs have been god awful all night, both teams are getting fucked left and right by them.

Basically all 9 of Buffalos points are due to a blown call. Even the damn announcers are pissed off about it

USC fans do not like getting reminded of not having to play LSU or Auburn for their national championships.

The refs sucked, Ohio's offense sucked and after the blatantly horrible intentional grounding call, the Ohio defense sucked, as well.

Not a good combination of factors...

Don't know if it's Buffalo's RB being good or the defense just sucking, though. Early in the game, they were talking about how Buffalo's struggled with the run this year, but their gameplan dictates they try to establish it. Gave me the impression that they had more success on the ground last night than in previous games.

The video of the grounding/safety call is everywhere today. Sportscenter and deadspin both tweeted that it was the worst call this year/ever

I found the deadpan article, could not find one on ESPN. Deadspin is incorrect with their assumptions in the article. But it is a huge mistake on the field none the less but not for the reasons stated.

yeah about what I expected out of sonofanump. If you aren't a ref, you have no clue what you are talking about.

I bet he agrees with the fumble call that screwed Ohio before that as well.

I can say Deadspin does not have a clue. Can't speak for the rest.

What exactly was the deadspin article wrong about?

Don't know if there is a video. Anyways, it was a kick-off return (I believe) and the guy's knee was clearly down. You couldn't tell possession at the time the knee was clearly down, but after he reappeared out of the bodies (knee back up), he had full control of the ball before it was stripped from him.

Yup no way would I say Baylor is better offensively than OSU, FSU or Oregon. They are not moving the football well at all so far against OU
