The NCAA just sent out a survey to selected coaches/refs. These were some of the new changes they are looking at


1. Mouth guards mandatory
2. No tape on headgear
3. 1 sec NF if top guy holds you for 1 sec
4. Body lock allowed if bottom wrestler is based out
5. Review official solely to review calls versus the mat ref.
6. No red shirts allowed to wrestle in opens.
7. If you aren't enrolled in school...you can't wrestle (ie Midlands allows entrants who have graduated etc

Agree with cruiser. I think rule changes should be beyond question, and I just don't see an over-riding reason for any of these.

Rules 6 and 7 are ridiculous. Those two areas are what make wrestling such a unique sport.
