Pretty sure they ran a 4-3 when Taylor was there and morphed to a 4-2-5 in recent years.

Retaining funds to resign these guys is definitely an important thing to keep in mind. That being said, I go cheaper on the WR pickup with Kevin Ogletree (to play slot, Gordon 1 Little 2). Also either Schwartz or Levitre, not both (let the current Gs compete for a spot). On Defense we have to sign Anthony Spencer. I'd also like to see LaRon Landry and Brent Grimes.

Assuming we don't trade down: Draft a OLB first round. DE depth 4th round (still think they're goin QB 3rd round: Tyler Bray or Logan Thomas)

Spencer is a good call. Forgot about him.

Not sure Little is a #2. Think he's more suited to the slot. That's part of the reason I'm not high on them bringing in Greg Jennings. He's not a true #1 but flourishes when they put him in the slot.

DE- Taylor
NT- Rubin, Hughes
DE- Winn

OLB- Spencer
ILB- Jackson
ILB- JMJ
OLB- Sheard / Rookie

I think this starting front 7 will be fine. LB depth is the only thing that will scare me. People seem to forget that NFL players are world class athletes. Part of being a great player is adapting and developing.

I'm assuming Gocong will be in the mix at LB.

Gocong slipped my mind. I also think JMJ will be a better fit in the 3-4.

They are world class athletes playing against other world class athletes. Don't forget that.

Brent Sobleski ‏@brentsobleski Horton said 34. Again, projected: DE - Taylor, NT - Rubin, DE - Winn/Rucker, Jack - Sheard, Buck - JMJ - Mike - DQwell, Will - No. 6 pick

BR can you explain this to S&L? :D

You don't want BR explaining it, it would most likely be wrong.

I understand that. My point is that most players can fit in multiple schemes.

I actually think we have a better personnel for the 3-4 then the 4-3. Taylor and Winn are more suited for the 3-4 and rubin can move to his natural position at NT. the best part is there is a huge need for an pass rushing olb, this year happens to have big time pass rushing olb's in this draft in mingo, and jones. 1 should be there at 6. You also need a mlb that is a tackling machine and we have that in d jack. This biggest question mark will be how Sheard adjusts.

There's no chance Byrd gets away. Franchise tag for a safety is going to be under $7 mil even if they don't work out an extension.

Unfortunate because he would be #1 on my wish list.

Actually our d line and lb's fit the 3-4 more than the 4-3 outside of Sheard.

I believe JMJ played OLB when he was at Nevada if I'm not mistaken...DQ and Rubin already have experience in the 3-4 as do Haden and Ward. Just need Phil and Sheard to get it...But I think the transition will be better than what people think. As mentioned a lot of times already, there are a lot of OLB/DEs in this class so they should be able to get a couple guys. I like Werner, Moore and if they trade back a little bit I like Sam Montgomery out of LSU. And maybe Tyran Matheiu in the 4th or 5th? How early would you take the Honeybadger?

I wouldn't take Mathieu at all, and it has nothing to do with his love of weed. He's not good in coverage.

Couldn't be any worse than Buster Skrine...he actually produced when he played at LSU. I'm sure not right away but at some point I think he could be pretty decent in the secondary.

move him to a safety or let him develop into a nickel corner. you could steal him in the 6th round and if he fails.. special teams superstar. it's a gamble worth taking if it's a late enough round.
