Didn't get a kick out of it, as I don't think he's a douchebag. I will say that I'm glad we made the trade, but I didn't enjoy watch the guy just suck ass out there.

Yeah, I really don't wish bad on guys unless it's a D-Bag like TheRapist or Suh. T-Rich seems like a good guy. I hope he does well AFTER this year and NEVER against the Browns.

To be fair, the reason I got a kick out of it is because of how freaking defensive I've been of the Browns for making the trade. To start, even though my friends are smart some aren't as intelligent of sports fans as I would like so ever since the trade went down they just lambasted the Browns. I tried to explain that even if Trent ends up really good, unless he's spectacular, the Browns extracted more value than he's worth.

But because they won't accept that premise, I basically have to root for Trent to suck for them to acknowledge the Browns made a great trade.

It's extremely small and petty, but that's where I was coming from when I asked the question.

When that trade went down, I think a lot of people lost their minds because of T-Rich's name recognition..."OMG...it's Trent Richardson...how could we do this." When if you watched him last year, he danced a lot and had a hard time finding the hole (this skill improved when surronded by several girls). He just didn't show that 'game breaker' speed.

Hasn't changed this year. I was watching the all-22 for like 45 minutes the other week just looking at Richardson runs in Indy. Same thing man. His first step is more horizontal than vertical. The only way you can get away with that is if you're someone super quick like Chris Johnson, and even then, it's extremely hard to get away with doing.

Adrian Peterson is the only back I've seen (too young to have watched Sanders analytically) that can take a more horizontal first step and still get a 5-6 yard run with ease.

Pretty much why I get a "kick" out of it too. Had too many dumbass ignorant friends who trolled me by saying the browns traded their best player. I am sure to remind them every shitty game t rich has.

Also I don't think it's too early to label him. It doesn't take long for rbs to learn how to run in this league. Richardson was not worth a first round pick let alone a top 3 pick.

Local Steeler "fans" in my area were the worst. "Haha...typical Browns, trading their BEST player/playmaker....haha." I just rolled my eyes.

I liked the Richardson trade the minute it was announced. RB is the easiest position to produce at early in the NFL, and Richardson just didn't have it.

I have Colts fans who I was trying to convince it was a bad trade for them...

Unfortunately, it looks like I was right.

Same premise, but I wish him sucking helped my team and not the other way around lol. At least I follow the Browns really closely.

I'm not sure I would have passed the trade up if I'm Grigson.

Trade value wise, there's probably only 2 or 3 backs in the whole league that could command a first rounder right now (absent the Colts-Browns trade). Clearly T-Rich isn't among them. But he's young enough that if he gives you 5 or 6 good, productive years after this (doesn't seem likely right now but I'm not going to rule it out), then you're getting fairly decent return on the trade relative to the appearance of the trade right now.

To clarify my point, here's the list of running backs that I feel more than half the league would trade a 1st rounder for. Every single factor is considered:

1) Lesean McCoy
2) Jamaal Charles
....

I think that's it. IMO, I'm not convinced half the league would trade a 1st for AP after the knee surgery, even after his MVP season last year.

This pretty much sums up how I felt. There was an initial "WTF" moment, because it seemed like the Browns were prepared to tank for a two win season at that point, and a possible fire sale was coming. I don't think the front office expected the defense to be this good this year, the offense to look much better with Gordon, and also the offense to look much better with any QB not named weeden.

I believe every team in the league would trade a first rounder for ap.

Maybe not #1-3'ish overall, but a first rounder for ap, they're doing it.

The only teams I see giving up a 1st for a 28 year old RB with a major knee surgery in the past 3 years are those playoff teams looking for something extra (those picking 20-30). I don't see any others. That's why I said I can't see half the league giving up a 1st for him.

Nope. 27 year old back. He was a pro bowler in 2008 and traded (as a 24 year old) for a 4th and a conditional 6th in 2010. No chance in hell I'm a GM of a team picking 25th or better and trading that for Lynch.

26 going on 27 is different than 27 going on 28. 1600 career carries (Lynch) is different than 905 (Charles). A running back who is more versatile (47 catches vs. Lynch's 22) is going to be more valuable.

I'm not even sure I would trade a first for Charles, but him and McCoy were the only ones I thought it was even remotely realistic for a team to be willing to give up a top 15 pick for. But if you give me the forced choice of giving a 1st up for Lynch or Charles, I'm taking Charles 100 times out of 100.

FWIW, I don't disagree that Lynch is better right now. I'm only trying to give my perception from a trade value standpoint, not from a talent evaluation one.
