Found this interesting:

Browns fans: Philly fan here. I’ll tell you what’s going on.The Eagles of the 2000s were built on the structuring idea of asset allocation as a way to build a winner. Banner looks like he’s following the same book here.

There are certain positions you sink greater asset into. Some positions, you can sink lesser asset into yet you get the same top performance. The Browns per this theory have it backwards. What Banner is trying to do is put the team in a position to acquire a top 5 talent QB. However at the RB position, you don’t need top 5 talent; you can sink lesser asset and still get top performance.

The Eagles had top 5 talent in Mcnabb at QB they invested the 2nd overall pick with. They invested lesser asset, a 3rd rounder in Westbrook and later a 2nd in McCoy. Both of of those RB were acquired through lesser asset but were/are still top talent. In other words, to be a top team, you don’t need a top 5 RB, but you maximize your chances though by getting a top 5 QB (yes there are exceptions) but that’s the theory.

So he’s letting go of the RB, and coupling that value he got back with the next given 1st rd pick, will try to acquire a top 5 QB. Then, with lesser asset, he will acquire a comparable or even better RB.

What he’s doing in simple terms is rearranging the furniture to maximize your talent acqisitions to put you guys in a position to build now to get good, the best we he knows how, and sustain that. Or think of it this way; will you have a better team with Weeden (or whoever) with Richardson, or, will you ultimately be better off with one of the next top 5 QBs, and a 2nd or 3rd round talent who will produce the same if not more than Richardson.

It actually has nothing to do with Trent Richardson himself the ballplayer. It’s asset allocation to distribute the most talent the best way throughout the team wholistically beginning with QB and RB.

As a side note, I heard the Browns may have pulled the trigger on the T-Rich trade a tad early in that there were teams that may have given up as much as a 1st and a 3rd for him. I don't think he's worth that but, hey?

No shit. Like the Vikings are some kind of perennial "juggernaut" who could never be beaten by the Browns.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on SportsCenter Monday the Browns are listening to and receiving trade offers for Josh Gordon.

Browns management isn't interested in competing this season, and Gordon is one strike away from a one-year suspension. So they're trying to "sell high," a strategy with which fantasy footballers are quite familiar. Gordon dominated in Sunday's win over the Vikings, racking up 146 yards and a touchdown on 19 targets. 19 targets suggests the Browns were showcasing Gordon, and he could be on the move as soon as this week. Schefter made it clear the Browns won't trade Gordon unless a team meets their asking price, but they already have at least one offer on the table. "There already is a team that has made an active offer for Josh Gordon," said Schefter.

I think we saw this story before in a movie.

It was called Major League.

Get rid of Gordon and this team WILL go 1-15.

WEll maybe 3-13 with two wins against pittsburgh

So they'd lose to Jacksonville?

I don't want them to trade Gordon. Saying that, if someone like the Pats offer a first I don't see them turning it down. If they accept a 2nd or worse I'll be extremely pissed.

LOL. I like the way Gordon plays, but I would easily trade him for 2 picks. Wouldn't even think about it.

Gordon's going to be an elite WR in the nfl. You don't just trade those away.

Seriously what is with browns fans and wanting to trade for draft picks? We finally have a #1 receiver and you want to trade him...for a draft pick, to draft a #1 receiver???

Lets think realistically here, ginger. Jax isn't trading most likely 2 number 1 overall picks for a WR.

I can see I got under you skin little guy, didn't mean to hurt your feelz. You also forget to mention that Gordon is a knucklehead dumbass selfish POS. Sure he turned it on this Sunday, but do you expect him to keep his nose clean? lolfail on you if you do. The dumbfuck was pulled over ans cited twice for traffic issues, then on Wednesday whats he do? Gets pulled over again. He's not smart. I'll be surprised if he's not suspended for a yr this time next season.

Ok guys, no one try to have a different opinion from S&L from this point on!

First of all, you can have a different opinion the mine. I simply stated I wouldn't trade him for draft picks.

Second of all, you're like 25-27 years old right? You seriously say 'lolfail on you'?

3 people disagreed. And I don't really care if people disagree that's just my opinion-we have a legit #1 WR, and I don't want to trade that away.

And I'm 24, wrong again.

And like I said, people disagreeing with me is fine. I am sticking to my opinion on this one. Why would we trade Gordon? To draft another WR hoping he's a #1? And get another draft pick out of it? So were gonna use the 2 picks to draft a QB and a WR. Why not just keep our #1 WR and draft a QB with our pick? If you're worried about Gordon messing up, perfectly fair argument. I just don't think it'll happen.

And I'd rather be a butthurt bitch than a fart sniffin, prius driving, craft beer drinking, hipster douche in California with red hair.

Lie we said, if a dumbass team was willing to give up 2 1st for him, that's now 4 1st round picks. Yeah I'd do that all day. I'd go QB, WR, BPA (hopefully OG/RT/DLine), BPA and lol all the way to the playoffs.

Also lol at the last paragraph. Sorry you can't afford craft beer, it is an expensive hobby.
