Rumors floating around that Mr Gordon's trip down to South Beach to be "seen" yielded another positive drug test. If true, he's done for the year....

After studying each of Brandon Weeden's rookie-year throws,
ESPN's Ron
Jaworski came away "impressed" and believes Weeden "will be a
rock-solid NFL
starter in Norv Turner's offense."

Weeden's pocket presence was a question mark coming out of
Oklahoma
State, but Jaws observed on tape that, "For a rookie, Weeden showed
uncommon
poise and calm in the pocket" with "consistently solid" mechanics.
Jaworski
was also impressed with Weeden's "ability to sit on his back foot and
drive
the ball with velocity." Added Jaws, "There's no question in my mind that

his throwing skill set and Turner's quarterback-friendly system will mesh

effectively." Weeden has deep-sleeper QB2 appeal under QB gurus Turner and
Rob
Chudzinski. Jul 1 - 4:53 PM

If true about Gordon, he can go fuck himself. Cut his ass. Browns took a chance on him and this is his thanks. Selfish piece of shit.

If true he owes me $20 because I was banking on him and Weeden being a nice duo on the deep ball in the Browns quest for being a top 16 offense. This is what I get for betting on the Browns.

Lol, I'd never waste money on trying to jinx the Browns. That would be like trying to jinx the Cubs by betting on them to win the World Series, it's just a waste of money.

That's not necessarily a terrible thing depending on the overall business plan, assets, financial situation of the company. But the recent rebate fraud and having their credit rating downgraded does make it look pretty bad. The Browns need stability, and all of the negative attention from the owner to players such as Gordon is certainly not helping.

And hopefully Weeden is improving that much, I would hope he is making great strides as his NFL career will be shorter since he is so much older to begin with anyways.

Jaws seems to think Weeden will have a great year, granted I want to hear that but I think it's promising. That along with the glowing TC reports (lulz that is worth as much vcash as you have) but I'm cautiously optimistic.

I think it is impossible for Weeden to have a worse year than last year. All other coaches in the league take a rookie qb and build the offense around their strengths....all except Pat Shurmur. You can't throw a shotgun qb under center (I read supposedly more than any other qb in the league last year) and expect him to do good. Turner and Chud will come out guns blazing, which will work more with Weeden's strengths. I'm worried about Trent's durability, our receiving core, and our secondary the most in this next season.

According to the Wall Street Journal, via the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the Pilot Flying J has about $4 billion worth of debt and its credit rating has been downgraded by the S&P, which called the financial risk “significant.”

"The company's debt nearly doubled to $4 billion in a two-year period through last year, as its owners paid themselves two payments totaling $1.7 billion from it, according to Moody's.

"Last year, Pilot issued $1.1 billion of the debt -- largely to fund the second one, a dividend for $700 million, according to S&P. That was partly so Jimmy could buy the Cleveland Browns."

I love how we now have the Frank McCourt of NFL owners.

The story about Flying J being $4 Billion in debt is now on the front page of CNN. Between the rebate scandal with the government after them and the company's outlook being downgraded by credit rating agencies, this is looking like it is not going to end well.

If you are loading up your company with debt to purchase assets that will produce a future value over and above the cost of the debt servicing costs it is not a bad thing.

When you are bogging down your company with debt that will not produce future revenue so you can buy the Browns, not a very good idea.

You really have to wonder about the level of vetting that these leagues are doing that some of these guys are able to get their hands on these teams.

First rule of owning a pro sports team at this point should be if you have to borrow much of the money to buy the team you can't afford it.

Haslam has been nothing but a big snake oil salesman, and it freaking sucks.

That's why even though Russell Wilson & RGIII would've looked better in Brown & Orange, in Shurmur's system, I doubt they would've had nearly the impact they had in Washington & Seattle.

Take this FWIW because I think Tony Rizzo is one of the biggest hacks in Cleveland, but he's claiming his "anonymous sources" are telling him that the Browns are now for sale.

EDIT: Also just heard a possible relocation to Los Angeles.
