He was picked 55 spots before espn had him going. Scouts score is a 46.

As an nd fan slaughter is pretty good in coverage and an excellent tackler. He just has to stay healthy. Even though Farley stepped in for him last year he was missed big time.

Slaughter is a good pick for this late. Actually, could be a steal.

After watching him at ND the year prior I thought he had the chance to go as high as 2nd round, but probably 3rd. The injury saw him slip, but if he comes back healthy and hasnt lost a step, this could be a real good pick.

Then again, I am slightly biased lol

Thanks Debbie Downer... Billy Winn was supposed to be undrafted last year too, and he played pretty solid. Let's just see what happens.

The Achilles injury is why. If he was healthy all year like I said he would have been a 2nd to 3rd rd pick.

Agreed. I was so pissed when got hurt last year. He was probably the most important part to ND's defense besides te'o and nix

My buddy says he's a pure FS with good FS qualities, he likes it.

I don't know any better so I'll like it too.

No he wasn't. Winn was expected to go way higher than he did.

My bad, I mis-spoke. I meant Hughes.

Hughes was solid though, with 3.0 sacks and 34 tackles. Not too shabby for a guy that "should've" been undrafted. The only thing I didn't like about that pick was taking him in the third last year, but then again, I'm not qualified to make those decisions.

Slaughter should also play on ST if he doesnt win the FS position, which I expect him to compete for.

Again, all depends on health after the injury. Achilles are tough to get back from, even when they heal you can still lose a step.

His stock would have risen especially with the way ND's d played last year. He only played I think 2 games. He was playing very well too.

Bray in the seventh makes my day. Is Alvin Bailey still on the board? And what about Rambo?

I'm OK with that. Not jumping for joy, but definitely not upset.
Sounds like the 08 draft all over again. How'd that work out?

As for the Slaughter kid, anytime you can take an injured 24 yr old ND player thats expected to go undrafted over younger, better, healthy players you gotta do it.

Cue the S&L "You don't like any move the FO does COA" comment.

Considering that two of the players listed are known commodities, and have produced already in the league, I'd say it's already a distinguishable and better situation.

Agree with this though, I would have rather had Rambo.
