I was stoked we took Haden and Richardson. I wanted T-Rich so badly I wasn't even upset we needlessly traded up to get him.

I would be down with Mallett. Been on his bandwagon since he raped Ohio State's pass defense but his WR's couldn't hold on to the ball.

If this regime makes a big play for a QB tonight they are setting themselves up to fail out of the gate.

If they give Weeden next year and he sucks at least they can say we gave him a shot in the system and move on without it costing anything.

If they give up a high pick for a QB, that guy needs to be playing next year. The idea you would sit him on the bench is ludicrous. Not to mention, you invite a DA/Quinn type scenario where whoever is starting plays well enough that all the sudden you don't want to just get rid of them.

If you play the guy and it doesn't work out, suddenly the heat is turned up already on the incompetence of the regime that they would have dumped Weeden without giving him a shot and a high pick on a guy who failed out of the gate.

It is just a huge risk to the credibility of the regime, and would immediately begin the calls for Lombardi to go.

We just used a 1st round pick on a QB last year. If we use a 2nd this year and at the end of this year find out we still don't have a guy then all bets are off when it comes to the beating the Banner/Lombardi machine are going to take.

Don't know much about this. It was forwarded to me by a friend, it was posted on Twitter earlier.

Take it with a grain of salt.

Here's the deal. The rumors posted from twitter a bit earlier in the thread are 100% legit. We are in serious discussions with three teams about trading down. The first two, San Diego and Miami are your basic small slide downs, and the big bombshell trade that was talked about is with San Francisco and involves multiple picks this year and next. It's supposed to be a haul, and this was backed up by another person I know.

We also recently had discussions with the Jets after the Revis deal was finalized, but those talks fizzled pretty quickly.

The EJ Manuel talk is definitely serious.

That's all I've got...and I'm not messing with you guys, I promise.

I've kind of been speculating that this might be the case. There are so many rumors and inklings out there that I think they are trying to get someone to give them what they want while maximizing the profit. If someone hears that we want to move up or have interest in Ansah or Mingo, it's possible we're trying to get people to show their hand by making moves to secure their pick.

On the other hand, we have heard VERY little about the Browns interest in Jordan, so I'm hoping that means we're trying to dissuade anyone from thinking we want him and leap-frogging us. If guys at 7-10 expect us to take Mingo, they are less likely to trade up to secure Jordan... and then BAM! We take him out from under their nose. I would friggin' LOVE to see this happen!

Thank goodness! Let's hope it's true we don't trade up. PLEASE don't waste a pick on Geno, though!

Geno Smith - QB - Player

Per a source with "direct knowledge of the team's plans," the Browns will not trade up to No. 3.

NFL.com's Albert Breer reports the Browns won't trade up at all. The Raiders' No. 3 pick is for sale and the Browns are supposedly interested in trading up for West Virginia QB Geno Smith, but it's not going to happen at No. 3. It's unlikely the Browns trade up at all, but the cost of moving from No. 6 to No. 3 would be substantial. If Smith is truly the Browns' pick, they can likely get him at No. 6 unless the Eagles force their hand at No. 4.

Thank you br for posting that. Everything you guys have read over the last few days have been completely false. Lol.

How anyone could take it seriously is beyond me.

Just go into tonight without thinking too hard into what were gonna do and hopefully a)we don't fuck it up and b) you have plenty of alcohol.

That is all in the past, can't change it. Giving him a shot and him failing costs us an old pick we can't get back.

Drafting a QB tonight or trading for a Mallet and having them fail because they will have to play next year, now we've wasted 2 high picks.

You 2 are slapping eachother on the back laughing thinking I'm an idiot, but drafting a QB tonight guarantees last years pick was a complete and total waste.

Weeden at that point is given his walking papers for nothing other than a late round pick, that's a great idea.

Well that is more than likely going to be the case anyways, so I wouldnt have a problem with them cutting their losses early.

*Im also not opposed to giving Weeden another year, but can understand if they dont think he is their guy.

Our fans are retarded. If you thought we would trade up to 3 to pick a qb that doesn't fit the offense that Norv wants to run, and sucked last year in college, you are an idiot. Would I pick him at 15 or so...maybe. But we don't even have ammo to move up to 3. I'm telling you... trade down or Mingo, if he's there. Unless some how to of the top tackles are still there, which is highly unlikely.

Am I crazy for saying Dion Jordan or Chance Warmack in round 1? Yes, I'm saying take Warmack at 6 if Jordan is gone and you can't trade down. I think Richardson would BEAST behind that O-Line
