Judging from your posts, you would get anally abused if you started chirping in the dawg pound.

The Lake Erie Classic is the 2nd preseason game, you might be the only one there. Most season ticket holders sell those preseason tickets cheap. Last year there were more Chicago fans in the stadium than Browns fans.

Poor Joe Banner.

He worked so hard to build a little kingdom here filled with as many yes men as he could get and now it all will likely go away for him when we get a new owner.

Karma is a bitch, and he should have known that the arrogance involved with shoving Lombardi down our throats in a blatant power grab would come back and bite him in the ass.

I just didn't think fate would intervene so quickly on our behalf by having the owner indicted and forced to sell the team.

The football Gods were looking out for us.

LOL. Right on cue, Iggy.

Where have the football Gods been the past decade or so?

I wouldn't count that opener against the Fins as a 'W." Seems like the league wants NOTHING more than for the Browns to get off to a good start every year and they find a way to shit in their hats. Seems like a lot of years they set the table with what seems like a win but they blow it. I'm just hoping we still HAVE a team after this Haslam fiasco. Still saying playoffs though.

And the loser Detroit "fan"* needs to crawl back in his hole. He'd get gang raped in the Dawg Pound talking that shit.

You've got to admit, it is pretty funny.

We've had a pair of team President's that went out of their way to alienate the fan base and stock the organization with yes men, only to have the rugs pulled out from them with ownership changes neither could have seen coming.

The endictment definitely surprised me, but I knew Haslam was doomed from the jump when he decided that a snake oil salesman like Joe Banner (loathed and hated in Philly) was the best person to entrust the team with.

Then, when he allowed Banner to convince him that Mike Lombardi (loathed and detested in Cleveland as well as being out of football for 5 years) was the absolute best possible choice his money could buy for GM I knew he was clueless.

Haslam steals money from truckers, Banner steals the Browns fans hopes and dreams, not surprised a pair of con-men like that hit it off so well. Banner is just lucky that his unparallelled arrogance is not a federal offense the way duping truck drivers is.

You don't know that. If they are seized & sold, to the wrong owners, they could be gone. Not saying it WILL happen but to imply there's not a chance is a bit naive.

Haslam may be asked to step down...

Yeah, it is just highly unlikely. I wouldn't worry about that. I do agree about the home opener though. Not sure why anybody would be confident that the Browns win a home/season opener. They have only done it once since coming back in 99. They always seem to find ways to lose that game.

Was it 2006 or 2005 they open against the "lowly" Saints...Charlie Frye hits Braylon on a bomb for a TD on the first play of the game..."holding Kevin Shaffer." We lose a close one and the Saints go on to be pretty good. A few years ago when Delhomme was QB we opened the seaso nwith what should've been two "sure" wins against the Chiefs & Tampa...lose both, etc, etc. I don't count any opener for the Browns as a "sure" win but boy it sure would be nice to start the season on an uptick.

As far as Miami, Tannehill will be their wildcard. They've stacked some nice offensive talent (Wallace, Keller) on his side of the ball. Their defense should be pretty good too assuming they come together quickly.

Not to mention 2 season ago opening up with the Bengals, manningless Colts, Dolphins and Titans. They shit down their legs and started the year 2-2. On paper, the Browns SHOULD beat the phins. Haden should shut down Wallace, not quite sure if the Dolphins have a running game, and they lost their LT. It is far from now, we still have the draft and I am sure there will be injuries.

I think Miami will be fine at LT. The Chiefs have given permission to their LT, Branden Albert, to start discussing a contract with Miami so they can make a trade.

Also that Saitns game really pissed me off. It was my freshmen year of college, and my roommate happened to be a Saints "fan." I was actually expecting the Browns to have a solid season that year, and I truly believe that game set the tone for the whole season. Honestly, for a team like the Browns, the first few games seem to be more important than it would be for the usual playoff contenders. Most of the shitty teams who make the jump to the playoffs always gain confidence with a few early wins.

Just heard from my buddy who just walked into the office that he heard on the radio (about 2 minutes ago) that Goodell has told Haslam to step down until this investigation is over with.

I work/ed with a girl from Philly who went to the Browns game vs the Eagles last season. She was just wearing here Jackson jersey and had a hot dog smashed into her mouth from behind by some dude. I warned her to wear neutral colors and not cheer or say anything. She didnt listen. She wasnt being a bitch or taunting or anything. Just wearing a jersey and cheered when the Eagles scored. She ended the game watching from the gate aisles cause so much crap was being thrown on her.

I am being serious when I say be careful when you are an opposing fan. They dont fuck around...its scary.

Exactly. A very passionate fan base, and they will wind up being VERY pissed if they lose. Best thing to do is to shut the fuck up. When I go to away games, I shut the fuck up, except for cincy games, because their fanbase is a joke.

Doesn't surprise me that you have one of the most classless players in the league's jersey. I really hope you do go to the game, wear it, and sit in the dawg pound just so it can get beer and a bunch of other stuff thrown on it. Also I doubt you would rip anyone apart lol.

Also maybe I'll make the trip back up to Detroit for the Cowboys game. it was fun the last time going when it was 80% Cowboys fans and 10% Lions fans and 10% empty seats.

[h=3]Cleveland Browns schedule analysis[/h]April, 18, 2013 Apr 18
8:20
PM ET

By Jamison Hensley | ESPN.com » NFC schedule analysis: East | West | North | South » AFC: East | West | North | South

Breakdown: The Cleveland Browns play two of their first three games on the road, which isn't ideal for a team learning a new offense and defense under first-year head coach Rob Chudzinski. After opening against the Miami Dolphins at home, the Browns play at Baltimore and at Minnesota, two playoff teams from a season ago. The Browns were 1-7 on the road last season.

Cleveland's most favorable part of the schedule comes after those road games, when the Browns play three straight at home against Cincinnati, Buffalo and Detroit. While the Bengals have gone to the playoffs for the past two seasons, the Bills and Lions were last-place teams from a season ago.

The Browns only get one national TV game, a Thursday night game on Oct. 3 against the Buffalo Bills. This was expected for a franchise that has had four different head coaches and a 23-57 record since 2008.

Complaint department: For the second straight season, the Browns get a brutal finish to the regular season. Cleveland plays three of its final four games on the road. This stretch features games at the Patriots, Jets and Steelers.

In fact, the Browns have just four home games in the final 11 weeks of the regular season. Last season, Cleveland was forced to end the season with road games at Denver and Pittsburgh.

Home sweet home?: The Browns open at home against the Dolphins, but that has never been a great kickoff to the season. Since rejoining the NFL, the Browns have opened the season at home in 13 of 14 seasons. Their record in those home season openers: 1-12. Their lone victory was over the Ravens in 2004. In last season's opener, the Browns lost to the eventual last-place Philadelphia Eagles 17-16. Perhaps renaming the home field FirstEnergy Stadium will cause a change of fortune.
