Johnny's got to get that ball in on the lefties. Hanigan wanted it there and he missed over the plate and it would have been the first run had it not been for gimpy Howard on first after getting a base on balls, just what a good pitcher gives up just after his team scores two in the bottom of the 5th to give him a 3-0 lead! Throw the ball inside to Howard and Brown!

I don't think so. He was already at 97 pitches, and since the first inning, hadn't seen the strike zone well at all. So you knew for him to get through the inning he likely was gonna be at 120 pitches. No need to do that this late in the year.

I blame the tie game on the poor, poor 6th inning Johnny Cueto had just after he had gotten a 3 run cushion the half inning before. You can't expect the bull-pen to hold a 1 run lead for that long!
