They seem to try, whenever possible, to bring chapman in to start innings. The situation doesnt always dictate it...but he seems reluctant to bring him in in a situatio like today

How dare you question the GREAT Dusty Baker? Reported.

Ah...the things you miss when you're in the office just following on Yahoo. Guess I should have figured it was a lefty, but I agree with what you say about Marshall. Two nights ago, I was at a friend's and we were talking about that during/after his struggles after getting the first two outs.

I love how the roof is falling in. Joey is a great player, but the next 30 are not against the Yankees of 2000-2005. The lineup is not great, but where do you get the pitching isn't pitching well?

They held the top offense (Runs scored-wise) in the league (ST. Louis) to 7 runs in 3 games. Cueto and company threw a shutout just two days ago. Granted Leake was bad today, but his ERA was 2.59 in his last 11 starts. If they hold on today, they will be 8-2 over their last 10 and have given up 32 runs in those games. The pitching has given up 47 runs in 15 games in July and 13 of those have been in the last 20 hours.

Latos was bad too.

Arizona scored 3 runs in the series vs the cubs.

I think over the 30 games that he misses that the pitching will be pretty much what it has been. MOstly good, with a few rough spots but that is to be expected.

IT will come down to the hitting. Today they came back from a big deficit. Is that hitting a sign to come or a lapse by the Dbacks and then they just couldnt stop the mo today.

Hopefully today gives them some momentum. I def gave up after we went down 6-0. Glad they made me eat crow.

Before the other night, Latos last 4 starts were:

2-0
30 IP
14 Hits
4 ER (1.2 ERA)
33 K's

The pitching has been more than fine.

His first start since Joey was dl'd. I didn't say he's been terrible for a month.

Marshall was a little shaky today. But overall another awesome outing by the bullpen!

Been great. My point is that with votto out, we need them to be even better. 3 runs or less good. Or else this offense might not get enough runs.

I think you're overreacting a little bit..still have Bruce and Phillips. It seems like 1 of Heisey, Ludwick, Rolen, Frazier, or Valdez will have a big game.

Plus they're not playing a tough schedule..they'll be fine. If Votto is out for 30 games, they'll go 17-13'ish
