I watch every day from 6000 miles away. I'll take the other 5%.

He got a save?Midstate01;1227516 wrote:Yep
Marshall put two on with two outs, so it was a save situation. I guess because the tying run was in the on-deck circle. Same thing happened in the Pirates game. They were up 6-2 going into the 9th, brought Cruz in, he got two out and then walked two. They brought Hanrahan in, he got the final out and got a save.thavoice;1227710 wrote:He got a save?
WTF happened? Wife turned the channel with two outs and them not even threatening.
Have to admit...last night may have been the most boring game I have seen in quite awhile. It seemed to last forever and without the additional scoring ya would normally see in a longer game.
Yeah.....that is the ruling that if a pitcher comes in and the tying run is in the on deck circle you get a save. Just tuned out when there were two outs and just ssumed Marshal got out of it.Heretic;1227736 wrote:Marshall put two on with two outs, so it was a save situation. The next level in Johnny's growth is to keep "stuff like that" from happening. I still can't get over how bad Bray was and he lucked out with the great DP started by Frazier, and then saved from a WP by a bounce, then then as bad a pitch as you can possibly make, a WP(almost), pitch that went wild off the inside part of the plate on a try for intentional ball 4!thavoice;1227708 wrote:What makes great pitchers great is how they get dialed in when there are runners on base. He either lost focus, was a little 'rusty' due to the extra time off, or the blister was bothering him a little bit and could be a combination of all of those factors but he showed why he is one of the premier pitchers in the bigs. Lesser pitchers wilt when stuff like that happens and give up a 3-4 spot.
We have seen that with Bailey alot in his career. He will be sailing along and then the wheels fall off and gives up a big inning and we all say "Just one bad inning", but even he is getting better at minimizing the damage and you see his growth as a pitcher.
Sometimes it is skill, like cueto, and sometimes ya get luck like Bray did the night before!
I yelled out a What the Fuck when bray let that one fly.mhs95_06;1228270 wrote:The next level in Johnny's growth is to keep "stuff like that" from happening.
