If you go by careers then I like the list, though I might bump Noah for his teammate, Al Horford. If you simply go by the best basketball players when they were in college that happened to play this decade, then I'd go with...

PG Jay Williams
SG Dwyane Wade
SF Carmelo Anthony
PF Kevin Durant
C Greg Oden

Bench
Chris Paul
Michael Beasley
Rudy Gay
Derrick Rose
Al Horford
Blake Griffin
Deron Williams

There is no doubt in my mind that team as college players would laugh the SI team as college players off the court.

Dwayne Wade should make the list way before Steph Curry ever does.

You forgot to add midwest, central, and the southern parts of the country.

If you think you have a better list then spit names out, quit just naming regions of the country.

M. Beasley
D. Wade
C. Paul
B. Griffin
TJ Ford

I'm with you on CP3 and DWade, BUT not TJ Ford, Blake Griffin, or Michael Beasley...

They only played one year and didn't really do anything for their team...

Also, this isn't an NBA award, this is college.

My only gripe with the list is that Melo wasn't on it, despite leading the 'Cuse to a National championship and DOMINATING.

Also, Battier only really played in 1 1/2 years of this decade, so he definitely doesn't deserve the starting SF spot.. He'd be the perfect 6th or 7th man off the bench for that team though.

All-time wins leader in college basketball, three-time national defensive player of the year, all-american, national player of the year, NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player, national champion. He did more than on the college level than any other player on any of these lists. Of course Battier's on it. Let's just stop this now. Same goes for Hansbrough and Redick. With what they accomplished, they're automatic bids.

Again, this isn't an NBA list. Had he played for UNC, or Ohio State even, and still accomplished the same, this board's tune would be changed. Typical, though.

And it's not his fault he played in two different decades. But since he did, you have to group him with the decade that he played in the latter part of his career. It's only fair.

Not his fault, but his career spanned two different decades. He can't get credit for stuff prior to the 1999-2000 season and apply that to a decade under consideration.

WTF are you talking about? No shit it isn't an NBA list--I'll still take Melo over Battier any day of the week for this COLLEGE list. It's about the best players not the best careers right?

Battier won the most games ever or close to it in college history.
Which means nothing. He's tied w/ Wayne Turner. Was Turner a great college b-ball player?? He was solid, but far from great.

You'd have to be stupid (or a big time duke fan) to take Battier over Melo in college.

In most cases, yes :)

I still have love for you Rec..

BUT, Melo would be my starter and Battier would be coming off the bench.

The list was built on careers I assume. Not to mention Battier fits into a "allstar" team better than most simply due to his style of play. Was Melo a better player than Shane....probably. I think thoughts like this get clouded by the success players have in the NBA though too. A Senior yr Shane was right there with a freshman Melo I feel in college.

^No way in hell. And I'm not shy about saying that Battier was a damn good player. It has nothing to do with NBA careers--Battier has had himself a nice career anyways.

Your matter of fact opinion is nauseating. And, yes, it has a LOT to do with Duke being, well, Duke. It's obvious, no matter what you say.

But, if that's how you're going to state your opinion, then so will I.

And thanks, LTrain;) There are some good Heels here, too.

Yes, I am going to support my team and stand up for issues I believe in about that team.

I also speak out against my team, too. See Josh McRoberts, Brian Zoubek, Coach K's propensity to use stall ball, and other things in general. Those who have read my posts for a long time know this.

Think what you may, though.
