Open Mats - Licking County

I realize there's a Sticky, but haven't seen anything in Licking County yet.

Does anyone know if there are or will be spring/summer Open Mats and/or Wrestling Clubs in Licking County?

Please post Who, What, Where, When??

1 PROUD... I will check with coach Martinez at newark to see if they are starting up...my son is getting ready for college so we too are looking.....from past experience if you dont mind the drive we have found that Hilliard Darby on Mondays.....Groveport Madison on Tuesday and Bishop Ready on Sundays are the three of the best mats in the area...plus the central ohio mats that were held last summer...these all seem to start in early April...

Licking Heights may host...have to check on some peoples availability. We have 4 mats in the room, plenty of space.

Agreed - I work in Columbus and don't get home until well into the evening so my son will have to drive himself - not real crazy about my 16 year old driving in Columbus traffic on weeknights - or weekends for that matter.

Wildcats - my son wrestled 170 this year - is already close to 180 now (gained almost 10 lbs in the 2 weeks since districts- eating and lifting) - is your son close to that weight?

Looks like Licking Heights will host on Thursday nights from 6-7:30...I will post the start date as soon as we shore up when it will be. I'd expect it to start in early/mid April.

Newark will be having open mats on Sundays at 5:30pm at the Evan's complex. Open mats have been going on and will continue through the summer.

Looks like we will be starting on the 19th...next Thursday from 6-7:30. Wrestlers will need to park in front of the school, enter through the commons, walk through the gym and go upstairs to the wrestling room.
