The last time ice knocked my DirecTV out, it also knocked my power out for three days so it takes a lot of ice.

Wonder what's up with mine? I will say the outsourced technicians they use around here aren't always the brightest.

I would investigate it more before switching. I've lost signal maybe a half dozen times in the last year or so. I also think that Direct is better than everything else. I've never had comcast but my in-laws have TWC and it blows, and my parents have Dish and it's ok but not up to par with Direct.

I'm switching anyway because of internet. I have Verizon DSL, which blows, and they bundle with DTV. I've had TWC before and it was fine. But their internet is far superior to Verizon.

Yeah I have roadrunner and it's great. I could never use their cable tv though. It's the worst of the worst IMO.

Since I'll be getting it, may I ask what you don't like about TWC? I've not had their HD service. Is it something specific to HD? I've seen others with TWC and it seemed fine.

The HD compared to direct isn't really even close. Direct is so much clearer. Dish is too for that matter. Part of it is personal preference too, I don't like their guide and stuff. My in-laws have also had more problems with their signal than I have with direct.

Since I have moved into my new house i have not had any trouble with Directv. DTV blows TWC and any other provider out of the water.

Also just got another HD DVR for free yesterday.

watch the fine print about directv.

We just got authorized to start selling and offering it. I have been going through some of the promos and such.

The 30 dollar plan is shit. There is NOTHING on there to watch so you can throw out that garbage.

The next level is $37 a month, with a 24 month contract. That is with a $5 ATT bundle discount as well so if ya dont have ATT wirless add 5 more bucks.

Here is how they break it down:
$66 --for the plan
$7----DVR service
$45---Movie channels (stars, showtime, HBO, skinamax)
-$45---for three months those movies are free.
-$26---national offer rebate
-$5----online rebate
-$5----att bundle discount

EQUALS---$37 a month.

After ONE YEAR taht $37 goes up to $67 bucks.

If you keep the movie channels after 3 months it is $45/month for those movie channels.

So..yeah...ya can get it for 37 a month for a year with I think one receiver...more if you need more...but it then goes to 67 for the second year.

That is what one of their LEAD offers with DVR.

If you dont want a DVR then you can get it 30 bucks a month for a year ifyou bundle with att wireless , and then 66 a month for the second year.

Seems very confusing...and depending on your cable....probably more per month.

Thats for me!
