No, he's out for the year.

What exactly happened this time? I know I'd read or heard something, but it was phrased really vaguely. Like "complications" or "a setback", but nothing more than that.

How much has Portland put into this guy? I'm guessing he will never play on a consistent basis. I didn't feel he was the person to take at number 1 in this first place but you would think by now Portland would just let him go.

I hope Oden in like 5 years gets healthy for a playoff team and gets a ring..I don't care if he plays 0 minutes, I just feel bad for the guy

He does have a penis that would make Mandingo run and hide though..so maybe I don't feel TOO bad for em...

Thats all I read as well. I do know right before he had "complications" he signed like a one year, 8 million dollar deal. After the set back, I read that they restructured the deal and Portland's GM said they are still sticking with him.

Watching a very competitive OKC Dal game. James Harden really looks good tonight.

Glad to see Russ Westbrook still knows how to make a shot.

Lmao Portland royally fucked up another big time draft pick. Not saying Durant will be anything near Jordan, but Oden is truly turning into Bowie version 2.0. Sucks for that franchise, and to top it off Roy retires, ouch

Agreed, can't blame then for what they did. Oden was special in college. If they had gotten durant they wouldnt have been to pair him with westbrook, harden, ibaka, etc... because the team would have been too good.

Not every team in the league had the choice of the 2 players and massively failed

Only a fail in hindsight. At the time Oden was thought to be the next Shaq, not surprised you forget that. Yes injuries have hit oden hard, but if he had stayed healthy (and no reason to think he wouldn't have nor Roy for that matter at the time) and you wouldn't be saying this.

The next shaq? I remember him supposedly being good at the next level. But all in envisioned hed be is a marcus camby type, get rebounds, block shots ect. I wasnt that high on Oden to begin with. Had he been healthy Durant would probably still be a better player than Oden IMO.

Shaq was a dominant back to the basket force, Oden had next to no post game at all but was a better athlete

Agreed. Oden looked pretty good the little time he has played...just bad luck. I think he could have been a really good player.

Well good thing you're so smart, too bad for Denver since you have a crystal ball that you're not in the front office.

Lmao you're something else. Sorry I wasnt high on Oden like you obviously are/were. He was another big man thatd put up like 15-10 and a couple blocks. If he was still playing now thats probably what hed be doing. While Durant is in the MVP race, scoring champ, pullin down rebounds and is a clutch player.

And lol, ive seen some of your insight as to what the Browns should do, you should probably apply for a GM job as well.

the ONLY knock on Durant coming out was his strength, Oden couldnt even stay healthy in college. Id say thats more of a red flag than Durant and his strength. But continue with your act of being the forum douche, its entertaining

Every time I start to feel bad for Oden, I remember how much he gets paid to sit on the IR. I really wish he could get healthy, but it's not going to happen. Hopefully one day he's able to contribute in some manner to an NBA team.

As for the draft, I still don't see how he went ahead of Durant. Oden could have been special, but the NBA had already made the transition to an up tempo league. I didn't see a great fit for him. But with that said, I don't fault Portland because he was so dominant in college.

That's actually really good though from a center in the NBA nowadays. The league is different now, more tailored towards the perimeter game and guard play than anything, all the rules favor them as well. Just a different era, but having a dominant big is always hard to come by, especially in this day and age. The NBA is more of a pick and pop or pick and roll league, and that's what they want because it's more entertaining.

Crynasty you still dont get it, Bigs are always over valued in the NBA. Always have been, probably always will be because size is so rare to have.

Yup agree. Lot of people fail to recognize this.
