Guy in league lost Arron Hernandez for a few weeks, has Vernon Davis on the bench. He then made a trade for Gonkowski for Fred Jackson. LMAO, talk about a trade rape.

Thoughts?

Gronkowski is the #1 tight end in the league with Hernandez out, easily. And he still might be even when Hernandez comes back.

But is he better than Vernon Davis and Fred Jackson combined. Cause thats what the trade amounts to.

I don't think VD comes into play because the guy still apparently has him as an option.

In terms of trading for Fred Jackson straight up, it depends on who his other running backs are. I don't see Fred Jackson leading the league in rushing. He'll get another 900-1100 yards, but I'm not sold on him being a season-long beast.

I would say the guy is overloaded on tight ends right now, but if he has other running backs it isn't a horrible trade.

Sure you can add Davis into the equation.

Line-up without trade:
-Davis
-Jackson

Line-up with trade:
-Gronkowski
-RB???

It all depends on who the RB he has in the new vacated slot. Im assuming not a very solid one.

Yeah it def matters and Mulva you do realize that if Jackson gets 900-1100 more yards this year that will be put him at 1200-1400 on the year? I'd say that will probably be top 5 in yardage. Unless hes got 2 stub RBs there is no reason to trade Jackson.

Also LOL at the person who said Gronkowski was the #1 TE in the league. Witten and Gates are definitely better and if Peyton is in there for the Colts Dallas Clark as well.

I meant 900-1100 total. Not that many more. When I said "another" I was comparing it to his last 2 seasons.

In 2009 he had games of 99, 163, and 212 yards rushing along with weeks where he went for 2, 31, 35, 39, etc. He had 3 games last year of 112+ yards, but also 7 games of under 40. I would bet on that happening this year too. He's inconsistent.

That was also me, and I said he was #1 with Hernandez out. The 2 of them last year combined for 1100 yards and 16 TD. With Hernandez not playing, that's all going to Gronkowski. Brady loves them as targets. He leads tight ends in yards and TDs this year, even WITH Hernandez sitting at #11 and t-5 in those 2 categories.

Yeah I gotcha now. Still I think the Bills are just a better team this year and that he will much more consistent then in the past. I honestly see him having about 1300 yards this year because I feel the Bills are a top 10 team.

I doubt all that would have went to Gronkowski if Hernandez was out sure he would have gotten more but I still don't think it would have been more then Witten got(94 catches, 1000 yards, 9 TDs). Im not saying that Gronkowski is terrible or anything I just would probably have him at 4 or 5 with Hernandez out. I'd rank the TE this year as 1) Witten, 2)Gates, 3)Finely, 4)Gronkowski/Hernandez(either or) then you have Davis, Clark, Daniels, etc.
