Really tough cut. Very few weak spots.

I'm not sure what the judges actually liked about Paul's or Stephano's performances....but I think one of them is going home tomorrow. Overall, a very good nite.

I was a little upset that some people chose to sing Motown songs. I thought Paul turned in a nice performance tonight. Casey took a rock song and turned it into a lounge act. Pia seemed uninspired.

The theme was the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Since the Hall of Fame has admitted those singers, they are technically correct.

I was really disappointed in James Durbin. Yeah, I get the whole "growing as an artist" thing, but I think he did himself a disservice by slowing it down with the George Harrison tune. I think America wanted to see him take the house down last night.

I am missing Simon more and more each week. Every judge thought each contestant was absolutely wonderful (or in the word's of Steven "Just Beautiful"). The closest we got to a criticism was when Randy said Stefano started out a little "shaky".

Stefano, Paul and Haley are your bottom three. Despite the fact Stefano was crooning to J-Lo with "When a man loves a woman" (and she was absolutely gushing after his performance last night by the way ), he goes home this week.

Casey .. sorry he lost it .. not impressed anymore.. every song he has to grinded out some words little old now
Stefano .... I think people just do not like him .. that Frank Sinatra vib
Paul .... sorry never like him ...I can only live my life with one Rod Steward ... what the judges see in this guy is beyond me


Lauren ... (on the bubble) she did a great job but I think people are liking Haily more now so some of those vote will be for Haily

What is pathetic is that the judge's save was wasted on that no talent assclown Casey. He's a poor version of Taylor Hicks. Pia/James are by far the most talented (I understand the appeal of Scott), at any rate Pia/James/Scott will all have careers in the music industry. Jacob might as well. The rest, likely not.

Pia should've lasted longer but she was boring so I can understand why people didn't vote for her.

Amazing singer and very pretty, but like I said pretty boring.

I still would've sent Jacob, Haley, and Paul home before her though.

+1. I bet the judges kept saying "Oh shit, we wasted our save" when they saw the bottom 3.

Some label will sign Pia and she'll do alright, but this is ridiculous that she's gone so soon.

I thought it was comical that Seacrest was almost begging people to keep watching the show at the end now that one of the 2 best singers just got eliminated.

^^^^agree with that. Great voice...but. The whole thing is about people being motivated enough to vote for you and /or buy your records or act.

But I also think that she was 'offed' much too soon. ...she was top 5 al least, and the best vocalist of the bunch. I had to laugh a bit at least.... Randy Jackson was caught on camera saying "Fuck no!"...censors caught it just at the 'no' part....LOL.

If Pia is a wannabe Celine Dion, what is Casey? I'll tell you who he is, he's the loser at every college campus that tries to sing at happy hour that no one pays attention to. The guy sucks. His rendition of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" may have been the worst thing I've seen on television (slight hyperbole). At least Pia has talent. Why did the judges save him again?

It is almost a crime that she's gone while no talent hacks like Stephano and Casey are still in this.

I'll probably be wrong again (because who knows how the teeny-boppers who vote on this show will vote) but I think things got a whole lot easier for James Durbin to win this, with Jacob Lusk the dark horse.

Yea, Pia shouldn't have gone home yet. But after the original shock of hearing her name as the one eliminated, most people will not be as surprised when looking back at her performances. I think the biggest thing she lacked was that ability to connect to the audience. I kept waiting for her to lose the high heeled shoes and get some movement in her act and engage with the crowd. Even when she was moving around the stage she didn't seem to have the presence or connection to people. While some of the others left on the show are less talented singers, their ability to perform and connect to people is what keeps them around. Stefano drives me nuts because I just think he looks to fake, and I too was wondering what the judges thought of using their save so early on Casey.
One other thing that may have helped Pia would be the judges actually judging now and giving America some of their actual "expert" opinion on these guys.....I mean come on, I'm tired of Steven saying "you nailed it", Jennifer saying "I have goose pimples", and Randy raving "that's how you do it." This is a very well rounded group with different qualities and I thought the judges did a good job of building them up early on, but now they need to start giving brutal honesty!

Pia was an older version of Thia, but nobody wanted to admit it because of how hot she is. I'm not sold on the fact that she'll ever be relevant in mainstream music.

Pia's rack & tush will get her signed by some label. The big gay crybaby has got to go just for the "America can't look at itself in the mirror" remark. Plus I want to see all Auhnties and G-mas absolutely crap a brick when he finally gets booted.
