He's not top 10. After 10, he's in the next 10 somewhere probably but I could definitely name some more guys I'd take before Williams. There is a reason this deal went down AFTER the Nets tried to get Melo.

He's having a great season, no doubt, but he's not one of the top 10 players in the league. Lebron will probably win the MVP anyway.

No Rose? I think Rose has definitely played his way into the top 10 of NBA players this year. I would take him before Dirk, Gasol, Amare, CP3 or Melo. Just imo.

Ew. No. Over CP3 or Melo? You're high. Dirk, Gasol, Amare--eh, I could see how you could have that opinion. But no way in hell is he better than CP3 or Melo. I don't think he's top 10 but he was part of that group I mentioned that I might take over Williams. Personally, I like Rondo better than Rose.

CP3 is either getting too much love, or D-Will and Rose aren't getting enough love by some on here. If Paul is top 5, there is no chance in hell that Rose and Williams are both outside of the top 10.

Nah. They're all very good, but all have weaknesses. CP3 is easily the most complete package.

No, he plays defense when he needs to. If he didn't, Denver wouldn't have been so close to coming out of the West the past few years.

The defense argument is so fucking dumb. The fact that COA is using it should tell you all you need to know. If these guys absolutely couldn't play defense they wouldn't be in the league. But when it actually matters (4th quarter) Carmelo can play average-above average defense. Who cares if he doesn't give it 100% in the 1st or 2nd quarter? A first half NBA lead is the most worthless lead in sports.

Yeah, I mean I would still take Rose over Melo, but I'll give you that I would have a harder time taking Rose over Melo than I would taking Rose over CP3.

Nobody would have taken Rose over CP3 early in the season. But it's easy to forget about him when he plays on a middle of the road (at best) and you hear about Rose all year. The only reason he's getting MVP hype is because they have to build hype for someone not named LeBron--who is the obvious MVP of the league.

There is a reason the Knicks and Nets moved on Melo, then Williams was the 2nd choice. And the reason why the Knicks would rather have CP3 than Williams. Not to mention, look what it was going to cost to get Melo vs. Williams.
