Pass the levy, Lancaster went through this a few years back. You have to stop the bussing and the votes will come, cutting sports is only disenfranchising the very folks that have voted yes already. I hate to see Amanda going through this, it's a real shame that it possibly is coming down to cutting sports....Are you kidding me?

It's sad if things fall apart......they have built a heck of a small-school program

They have some very good quality athletes down there. Be a real shame if they did not get to continue.

I agree, if things do fall apart they are more than welcome @ Lancaster, we'll win that OCC!

Gale, Lancaster already won a share of the OCC with their own kids. They will get all the help they need from their own feeder system.

Unfortunately football seems to be the only sport that get's spared the big hit in numbers. If you want to see what a levy failure and outrageous p-t-p fees does to wrestling, look at Big Walnut. When you go from 20-30 kids to 14. You can barely practice. If you read today's Cols. Dispatch the cuts are only going to get deeper every year. BC and CW, don't get to feeling too good. I've seen how your districts spend money. Even though you just approved levy's, doesn't mean they aren't dumb enough not to ask for more sooner than later.

Actually bigdogdad BC was grateful just to have 14 wrestlers compared to five last year. But I get the point. I hate to see any district blackmail people into a levy. Right now most people are just trying to keep their kids in sports etc financially let alone ptp.

Ok guys, this is a bit sad lobbying to get the boys from Amanda, grow up. Circleville is a fantastic location that believes these young, smart, good looking, talented wrestlers will choose a school based on their own needs without being torn in 3 or 4 directions. Im sure these young athletes don't care if Circleville gets out the whole week for the Pumpkin Show, or that its basically a strait shot on 22 into the High school.....On the serious side this is terrible for Amanda, I feel for everyone of those kids. I wish them all well.

Keato: I thought that was a great post (mainly, the last part). But not to overlook the first part...
Learning the ins and outs of the small town is a great experience for progressing into a bigger city. Laying a foundation through tight-knit communities is excellent preparation for moving up to a larger, and still growing community, such as Groveport. Getting a few of your wrestling friends to come with you will only help bridge the gap of the move.
We hold open mats on Tuesday's, from 5 to 6:30pm, starting in the spring and all the way through until next season. If you'd like to come up to the wrestling room to see some of the wrestling tradition that you could be a part of, feel free.
We also hold a spring wrestling tournament to prep for the Tournament of Champions. We are also taking steps to gather a team for the New Albany Duals.
In the meantime, good luck on the rest of this season, and remember... Groveport COULD have less of a crime rate than Circleville, Lancaster AND Bloom Carroll if Keato's Clan, Spires and Ankrom would stop coming to the Port to commit their heinous crimes!!!!!!! Yeah, that's it. Those are the guys doing it...

Amanda Has a great future in wrestling, especially Austin Johnson the kid is a great athlete and may become one of the best wrestlers to come from Amanda.
