I wore a plastic suit every day of my life in wrestling. I use to sweat out 6 pounds a practice..and I weighed less than 140. Wore a singlet over the plastics and long sleeve shirt with ankles and wrists taped so that sweat would run out. Had to go 'drain' sweat a few times each practice.
I wore tights in HS....every team did. Whose idea was that anyways?

Some may recall this: My first wrestling uniform was a three piece.......#1.The tights, pretty self explanatory, tied at the waist. #2.The Top, it was sleeveless with a long tail in the back with snaps on it that you brought down through your backside, up over your crotch, then snapped into place in the front. 3. Briefs that resembled a speedo/bikini bottom. Worn to cover the snaps etc. of piece#2.
After they went out of style we sold them to Oak Harbor.

I choose to empty the dishwasher.
From there I will put the kids to bed and read Leviticus 4 through 7.

I do, however, LOVE Carmen Ohio!
Oh come let's sing Ohio's praise
And songs to Alma Mater raise
While our hearts rebounding thrill
With joy which death alone can still
Summer's heat or winter's cold
The seasons pass the years will roll
Time and change will surely (truly) show
How firm thy friendship ... OHIO!
These jolly days of priceless worth
By far the gladdest days on earth
Soon will pass and we not know
How dearly we love Ohio
We should strive to keep thy name
Of fair repute and spotless fame
So in college halls we'll grow
And love thee better ... OHIO!
Though age may dim our mem'ry's store
We'll think of happy days of yore
True to friend and frank to foe
As sturdy sons of Ohio
If on seas of care we roll
Neath blackened sky or barren shoal
Thoughts of thee bid darkness go
Dear Alma Mater...OHIO!

I know of one who is probably at least reading this thread who was beaten repeatedly by a girl at open mats. She made him a better wrestler. You go Gabby! We're all proud of you.
And yes... I'll pay the price for posting that.

What's the most weight you ever saw anyone "drop" from end of practice to next day match weigh-in?

When I was a freshman one of our "heavy hitting" Seniors was our 175. He weighed out at 192. Stuck around for a few hours helping and watching all the "techniques of the day" until it was time to go home. Next evening he weighed in at 175. Not sure of the exact time, but his match went less than 30 seconds.

Dugan Bentley... Probably lost anywhere from 8 to 10 pounds in about 3 hours. Dude could straight cut weight. 2x AA at Ashland! Current coach at Beachwood High.
I've never wrestled at the Cincinnati Gardens. Nor has Rex Frohnapfel. He told me that it was the worst site for a state tournament... EVER!!!!
What do you think about 3 seperate sites for the state tournament???

I like the idea being proposed for two seperate sites............one for the NorthEast, and the other for everyone else.
