I don't trust anyone who specializes in wholesale cabinetry needs.

Especially from the Granola State!!!

Well, the Mrs. and I have been discussing getting a dog. We are both willing, but need the timing to be right. Our commonalities were a puppy from a soon as possible that we could train to meet our needs and demands. She shot down my idea for the type of dog. But that turned out okay because I shot her first choice down.

We were on extremes when it came to top billing. She wanted some type of rat with fur. I said look woman. We can't have a pet so small our kids could lose it in their room or their ear canal!!! To which she responded - and we can't have a pet that could swallow our youngest whole! Touche'. But I'm pretty sure a mastiff wouldn't want to eat a child. Come on, sweetie.

So our compromise was a mid-sized dog, one we as parents could enjoy, but also one that would be excellent with our kids and any company. So, what's a man to do but suggest the all-American favorite, the labrador retriever. Now to decide the color!

Up until 48 hours ago, I was set on a yellow. But the more I investigated, the more I liked the look of an adult chocolate lab. Did you know they have silver and charcoal labs now!?!?! Back in my day it was either black or yellow. The silvers look sleek. Very intense! I think the black have the best looking puppies. But they are only puppies for like a year or two! Then it's 10 to 14 years of an adult dog. Better get one you like!

Next up would be the name. Simple... we are getting a male dog, so it's going to be Chance. A few years back I was introduced to the movie "Taking Chance". GREAT FLICK!!!!!!! (if you are open and direct about your appreciation for the US Military. Otherwise, it's whatever.) Anywho, that'll be his name.

And there you have it.

As in "they don't exist"??? Or as is I choose not to practice the act of owning an animal?

Just trying to get it straight!

That's funny stuff. Yes, I understand that they exist. I choose not to own one.

Ain't hatin!

But I think they will need a few more pieces to the puzzle. The whole line-up is going to have to contribute in BIG ways.

PSU won it with 5 finalists (3 champs, and 2 runners-up) and it was close. Very close. If you put Logan (133 or 141?), Hunter (141 or 149?), and Heflin (197) in the finals, you still would need two out of three to win AND have 125, 133(?), Cam or Demas if one of them is in the line-up, Bo, Martin, and now a 174 pounder, along with Courts and Tavanello or Campolattano to AA. I like Tessari and/or Demas to AA, but you are only going to have one of them in the line-up. Campo could certainly AA, too.

If Bo is wrestling 157, I don't think 165 AAs. If Bo wrestles 165 next year, it's going to be very difficult to AA for two reasons - #1) 165 is a deep weight class in the NCAAs. #2) Bo said if he goes 165, he's red-shirting. This second point is the clincher for me! ;)

For me, a championship line-up looks like this...

125: Roberts/Tomasello
133: L. Steiber
141: H. Stieber
149: Tessari
157: Demas/B. Jordan
165: M. Martin (unless I'm COMPLETELY wrong about Demas @ 165)
174: NO CLUE!!! (and to win it all, the Buckeyes are going to need someone to win 2, maybe 3 matches at NCAAs)
184: Courts
197: Heflin
285: Campolattano

That's all for now...

ps: That person posing in that singlet is Steve Luke!!! How sweet is that!?!?!

Snyder will help, but he needs to be in the line-up when Logan is a senior. I'll have to look up the number of true-freshmen and RS freshmen to AA this year, but I bet it ain't many. The good news is Bo will most certainly be in the line-up in two years. So you have a senior Logan, a junior Hunter, a sophomore Bo and a freshman Snyder, to go along with a junior Roberts OR sophomore Tomasello, a junior Cam Tessari and a senior Campolattano. Not to mention a junior Courts and junior Martin.

Some of those eligibilty years might be off, but that's not bad is they all continue to progress.

Here's hoping they do!

Two things:

#1) While asleep last night, I had a crazy dream. My family and I were at the bottom of a hill/mountain. As we looked up along the side of the mountain we would see horses and deer grazing. Then, ever so often, like the wave pool at Wyondot Lake, a mass of snow would come rushing down and wipe them all out. They would be carried to the bottom of the hill and then they would trounce back up to the top, or even in the tree line.

At some point, people started going up and riding the wave of snow down. I was watching this along with my dad as we laid out beach towels on the ground. I asked him if he had evr done that and he said yes, and mentined being covered by the wave and it made him go crazy as he tried to get out from underneath the burried snow.

At some point I ended up on top of the hill and rode a wave down. Under my feet I could feel people getting stuck under the snow. As I dismounted from the wave, I walked down to my beach towel and then I woke up.

#2) Last night was a fun night. Stand-up comedy at the Funny Bone in Easton, at an Ohio-RTC fundraiser. Man. Those guys were funny.

No! That was not my second point. My second point was going to be the GREAT songs I heard on my way in to work today.

A few weeks back I was feeling a bit let down by the discussions on QFM96. To be honest, after Daddy Wags stepped down, I noticed a change in song selections and a new level of discussion. After a listening and some thinking, I decided to do something that hadn't been done since I first got the car... I changed my radio stations. Out with QFM, in with 93.3 and 101.7. Dude! These are great stations!!!

On the ride in I heard "Fly Like an Eagle", "Spirit in the Sky" (and couldn't help but envision a certain motorcyclist rolling down the highway), "Stuck in the Middel With You" along with a few others. The last song I heard as I pulled in to the school parking lot was The Commodors' "Easy Like Sunday Morning". I absolutely love that song!

If you haven't checked it out, I highly recommend 93.3FM. Great stuff!

English Mastiff = best dog ever! I sometimes forget to turn on the home alarm system, but rest easy knowing that 160lbs. of muscle and teeth would greet anyone foolish enough to break into my home!! :D
And my 4 kids are his favorite people!

She ain't having it. It's too big. Our house is all of (roughly) 1,200 sq. ft. The Lab is cutting it close. But I'll be darned if I'm buying a rat with fur. :D

But I would SOOOOOO love one. They look like such GREAT dogs. And as you point out, they are!!! Bah!!! If only I had $1.6 billion. Or even $8.7 million.

The wife hates that he sheds and drools (no one's perfect!), but she has her Min Pin (all of 9lbs!!) who I call "the rat" so it balances out. ;)

I'm in DC. Hoping to get a little time to myself so I can stop over to a few memorials.

#1) The Lincoln Memorial - Lincoln's aim was to preserve the Union. BIG vision from a guy who probably wouldn't cut it in today's political climate. (You know they called him "Honest" Abe!)

Secondly for this memorial is Dr. Martin Luther King's speech was given on the steps of that memorial. How awesome!? I think I might pull up his speech on my phone and play it.

Lastly, that's the same place Forrest was reunited with Jenny!

#2) The World War II museum. Those vets are dying off rather rapidly. I'd love nothing more than to run into (figuratively, of course) and extend my gratitude.

#3) The Vietnam Wall. If you haven't readEve Bunting's "The Wall" I highly recommend it. It captures the sentiments of a simple granite wall with such class and grace. Quite possibly the best read piece I've ever encountered on the subject.

#4) Anything else. I'd like to stop over to the tomb of the unknown soldier. That would be sweet. Arlington, the Washington Monument, the Korean War Memorial, etc.

Here's hoping I have enough time.
