Well what does everyone think so far this year? David hasant even been touched so far I think he's only had 1 match go to a regular decision. Will he win the NCAA title? Can he knock off Fittery Bubba Jenkins. IMO he wins the title and posts a perfect record this year this kid is freaking amazing!

He is wrestling crazy good. Watch some of his matches, he's destroying even ranked kids.

I'll go waaaaaay out there with my prediction-

David Taylor will not lose in college until a RS Freshman named Bo Jordan appears in the Big-10 conference.

edit- ya may have noticed I did not specify what Big-10 school. haha!

He's the truth. He's in the zone. Great attitude, great role model for people in out sport. Conditioning is excellent, focus is sharp. Can't believe I'd ever be thinking that there would be a more dominant OH wrestler than (or course Freid & Kemp) DS, but that might just be the case. Time will tell. Regardless, His work ethic, dedication, determination, & integrity are second to none.

One quick point, and PLEASE don't take this the wrong way: Last year when Dake (Cornell) had won an amazing amount of matches and was really on a tear, people weren't talking about him too much. At one point in late Feb., early March his name came up. Some people dismissed him due to the fact that he didn't have those two or three big wins.

My question... Name the returning AA(s) he's beaten? And for this point, I think Dake is a PERFECT example. Flew lower on the radar than Taylor is, had around the same success in-season, and went on to win a national championship. Taylor could very well do the same. In fact, I hope he does (and personally) I hope I'm there for it!!!

I hear ya... I know he tech'd the #8 guy. The 14-4 Sponseller match stands out (although he hasn't been the same Colt), tech'd #20 Cathell, & pretty sure he took it to Dong, lol. Not sure when he'll match up w/ Hall, Fittery, or Bubba & they'll be others that won't back down. Young (Indiana) & Welch (northwestern) pose the biggest threats in the Big 10. 21-0 w/ bonus pts occuring in 20 matches.

The general consensus is that there are three wrestlers that can challenge Taylor. Fittery (American) is undefeated, the current#1 and a returning All American (majoring Sanderson for 5th). Hall (Boise State) finished 3rd last year (including a 6-4 win over Fittery). And of course there's Bubba Jenkins (Arizona State)...former Junior World Champion, NCAA runner-up, and former teammate of David Taylor. Hall and Jenkins have split matches this season. Jenkins winning by major at All Star and Hall winning by a point in their last meeting. I would put Virginia Vech's Jessie Dong right there with these three and Taylor has already beant him 9-3.

I don't see anyone in the Big Ten staying within 10 points of Taylor. Part of that is Taylors obvious skill, and part of that is the relitive "weakness" of the weight. He's already tech-falled the highest ranked wrestler behind him in the League, and beat Spnseller 14-1.

I think right now Taylor is 4-5 points better than the wrestlers mentioned above. I think Taylor will be even better two months from now. Anyone can have a bad day, but barring some sort of total meltdown, he's you're 157-pound champion.

In a 1 to 10 scale, 1 being the weakest and 10 being the toughest, where do you rank 157. I realize we are talking LIGHT YEARS of distance between high school and college, and then coming to a screeching halt and measuring the smallest of margins to create a difference between one weight class and another, but if you had to rank, where does 157 fall???

Call me biased, but unless there's an exceptional group, heavyweight is always the "weakest" weight in the NCAAs. 125 has got Precin, McDonough, Robles, Nicholson and Sanders. If Stieber was still in the mix, I think that's the toughest weight class in terms of depth and up top strength. The battle between Howe and Burroughs at 165 is huge, but the weight class behind them is not stronger than 157 or 133. 149 maybe with Dake, Caldwell and Molinaro? 141 looks solid with Russell, Thorn, Kennedy, Alton, Bailey, Novachkov and Nauman.

Come to think of it, as I look at the weights. They're all tough, but none of them are more than six or seven deep with real conrenders. Now that The Donger is back, I think Fittery, Taylor, Hall, Jenkins and Dong stack up well against any weight. I'd give 157 a 5. It doesn't have the up strength of 165, and lacks the depth of 125 and or 184. But I think it is just as good or better than 174 or 197. 133 and Hwt bring up the rear.

Heavyweight... ugh! like watching paint dry!!! Not entirely true, but not too far off the mark!

There's a whole lot of things that have to go right, some of which are beyond his control. Personally, I'd love to see him do it but there's a reason it's only been done once before.

He has been a blast to watch so far this year. The same can be said for Andrew Alton as well. But David just seems to be destroying anyone who steps on the mat with him. Obvioulsy as an Ohio guy im really pulling for him to do big big things
