South finished 14th out of 17 at New Albany. 285 finished 3rd, 152 finished first in pool B. Tough day for our 125 and 130, had some stiff competition but wrestled well. 103, 140, and 171 were all sick and did not wrestle.

In hopes that most head coaches read this, the following schools need to email me back in regards to if they have wrestlers taking the ACT the day of the city championship:

Independence
Eastmoor
West

Please do so ASAP, even if you don't have anyone taking it, so I can check you off the list.

It appears that Jones is a lock at 140 or 145. I have not seen the West 135 wrestle this year but he needs to bring his A game to the City Championship. Alec Mills has wrestled at 135, 140, and 145 for mifflin this year and is a hand full. This kid is in 10th grade and finished second last year at the City Championship, losing only one match all year to a CCL wrestler. If he goes to the city @ 135 I expect him to pin his way to the Championship. If he has to wrestle Jones, Mills must bring his best.

If mills go 135 for the championship then he will more than likely have waits of centennial in the finals, which would be a great match. jones and mills wrestled at the ready winter classic and jones handled him pretty well.

Once again, there are NO locks in wrestling. You never know who is sick, who is hot, is on, and who is off on that day. Our kids have soo much Sh*t going on you never know who is going to show up.
I do think Mills will have his hands full with the kid from Centennial. I have seen Mills and he is tough, but I have also seen waits and was impressed with him as well. I want to see the HWT form Ridge and The HWT from Miffin go at it.

Marion Franklin is at Licking Heights with Buckeye Valley in a Tri.
Marion Franklin will be at Watkins Feb 5th

Okay guys here we go last year 135 was the toughest weight class in the city. The top 3 were all DQ’s and the finals match was one of the most exciting matches in the tournament. Which weight class this year from top to bottom do you think will be the best weight class in the league this year? Lowsingle the Jones vs Dunlap or Jones vs Maynard match up will be a great one I would love to be there to see that.

South is at East Thursday with East and Independence, Centennial JV Tournament Saturday, next Thursday the 3rd Senior Night at South vs. Linden and Africentric, and then Super Tri at Cardington Feb 5th with Cardington, Grandview, and Galion.

Lowsingle, I am a lock at the golden corral buffet, unless the Ridge twin grizzlies show up to challenge my title. yuck yuck yuck.

Wow that would be a very deep weight class that's if they all end up at 140. I’ll just through a few weight classes out there for people to think about:
125
135
140
160
215/285 We'll have to wait and see who's at what weight.

What!!! Did I hear someone ask for names? I thought someone said they where going to put some rankings together already?

HAHAHA!! The cat at the buffet! Now that is a Lock, unless Eagle and The grizzly twins from Ridge get there!
140 could be deep. What about 160? Africentric had a pretty nice kid there this weekend. He placed 5th I think.
I heard Independence has a good 160, but i'm not sure who they wrestle..

ATT city Coaches. You need to get your dual and tournament records turned in tomorrow by 9am. the central district ranking is sunday as well. Teams need to be ranked and entered by the end of the week. Ask your AD for the information if you don't have it already.

Oney, I owe you big time, seriously.....I have been wondering when this was going down but haven't heard a thing from my AD. I received an email tonight from my AD, and wouldn't have checked my school email if you had not posted that. I have two doctors appointments tomorrow so I wasn't going to be in school and would have been totally oblivious about the 9 AM deadline. You are the man.

No big deal buddy. That is what this forum is for. Not everyone has a great relationship with thier AD. Everyone has an hour to get your record into OHSAA for the sectional draw. Seeding starts tonight after 3pm.

I hope that everyone got there records in the system before the dead line. I truly hope this system gets changed in the near future. So where are those CCL rankings that someone was suppose to post?
As for the buffet let’s get it right guys. It’s lightest to heaviest we little guys like to eat to.

I saw results where waits is at 140. If that is the case, that could be the best weight class in the tourney. I hope everyone decides to put their kids at 140. It would be great.

160 just might be the toughest weight class:

Patrick MF
Pea NL
Budgett MIF
Leeman CE
Beechcroft dont know his name
Afrocentric dont know his name
Eastmoor has a decent one
Independence?
and not sure what others have at 160

Wheres Brookhaven's Tavonte Burney? He was a Dist Alt and beat Fox (Scioto) and just barely lost to Kilstrom (UA-Dist Qualifier) in OT. If hes still wrestling, not hurt and etc. He could be in the running for the top 160 spot. I like Leeman as well.

At 160, Patrick has beaten Pea by tf, Africentric 11-5, and the briggs and Whetstone kids. He missed the Centennial meet with a weight issue.
I think the Mifflin kid is tough and I think the Indepenence kid is tough, but I don't know anyone that they wrestle during the year. Patrick has had some pretty big winds this year.

News flash we will have a new scorer for the league meet this year. Welcome to the world of computerize scoring and baumspage updates. Finally the largest public school district in the state is moving on to the next level. I for one am really happy to see this change.

My AD told me I was going to let the league use one of my software programs to run the tournament. Since they have someone new they don't need my program.
