It's pretty common amoung these local HOF's that the electing body does not nominate candidates. Community involvement eleminates the kind of controversy and injustices that are being discussed here. Perhaps the committee could have done a better job of involving the public but they don't really have an extensive budget. The time to get involved in the process is before the election. We have had a number of candidates that have numerous nominations and some that were quite extensive. That certainly is a factor when the board considers a candidate.
Ok, he's was nominated, and not by members of the electing body. Again, with all his credentials, with all that he's accomplished for Orrville High School Athletic's, the question is asked again, how could he not be elected in the OHSAHoF?
I haven't "thinly veiled" or anything! If you want it to be an accusation, then the accusation revolves around this simple statement...How could any voting member on that board ignore the accomplishments of that athlete that helped to bring their high school, their alma mater, their beloved Red Riders back-to-back state championships and gave Coach Smith his 2 championships and not unanimously elect him into the Hall of Fame?
RR1, if you have voted for him as you said that you have, you've listed his accomplishments and stats on several occasions, you don't ask at least yourself that question?
However, if brf says he knows the answer why Marcell wasn't voted in I'm willling to believe you know also. Perhaps it's a secret!
You say I'm making accusations of an injustice, what do you call it?
