The scoring needs an update again. The fact that Smoke has won half of the Chase races, and is still in second, is pretty jacked up.

I think if you'll look Carl has 7 or 8 top 10s in the Chase. Through 8 races. Tony has the wins but Carl has the more consistent finishes.

Scoring is great the way it is. You get a 3 point bonus for winning a race. Thats fair with the system setup. Carls worst finish in the chase has been 11th place. Tony has had finishes of 15th AND 25th I believe. Thats what hurt him.

Right, but I'm pretty sure the point of a "race" is to win, not consistently finish in the top ten.

Sure...and thats why you get 3 bonus points for a win. The Championship is about the best driver over 36 races, not just 1 race. The best driver isn't always the one that wins the most races.

• Phoenix had its first repave this year. The construction began in March and concluded in September of 2011.
• The following changes were made during the construction period:
• Widened the frontstretch from 52 to 62 feet
• Reconfigured pit road with the installation of concrete pit stalls
• Pushed the dog-leg curve between Turn 2 and Turn 3 out 95 feet
• Tightened the turn radius of the dog-leg from 800 to 500 feet
• Implemented variable banking to ensure the immediate use of two racing grooves, including 10-11 degree banking between Turn 1 and Turn 2; 10-11 degree banking in the apex of the dog-leg; and 8-9 degree banking in Turn 4.

I don't see how Busch gets kicked out of races all weekend for wrecking someone, yet Vickers doesn't even get parked by NAscar, and they have came out and said they aren't going to do anything. Sounds like some bullshit.

Nascar test yesterday didn't do much. They played around with rear spoilers and plates. Nemechek went 203 alone.

Today & tomorrow is Rolex testing. I was shocked to see Bucky Lasek in the garage. I had no idea he drives racecars.

Rumor on several sites are saying that it's highly probably that Chad Knauss will be promoted to Director of Competition at Hendrick Motorsports and will be replaced on top of the #48 pit box by Darian Grubb. Depending on whether or not Penske grants him his release, it is expected that Steve Addington would then replace Darian Grubb on top of the #14 pit box. It's also being said that Darian Grubb could get promoted to Director of Competition if Addington isn't released by Roger Penske.

Not saying you are wrong, but i never thought I would even HEAR that Knauss would leave the #48 pit box. That would be huge.

"We're not doing this because it's better for the teams," Keselowski said last week during an appearance at the NASCAR Hall of Fame . "I don't think we're really going to save any gas. It's a media circus, trying to make you guys happy so you write good stories. It gives them something to promote. We're always looking for something to promote, but the honest answer is it does nothing for the sport except cost the team owners money.

"Cars on the street are injected with real electronics, not a throttle body (like in NASCAR). So we've managed to go from 50-year-old technology to 35-year-old technology. I don't see what the big deal is."

Also, thank you NASCAR,

For fixing the points system, so that the full time driver from each series wins the championship. I was tired of seeing full time cup guys win the truck and nationwide series. Kudo's to NASCAR!!!!!!!!

Shaping up to be one hell of a finish. Tony first, Carl second, tied in points. Right now whoever wins will win the championship. Can't ask for anything more.
