Cordero is THE man!

Jay Bruce made Tom Emanski lose his hair on that play.

Well I guess he didn't really slam the door. He kind of just quietly shut it.

Sooooo Edmonds is most likely retiring now.

Per John Fay
johnfayman

Edmonds: "I've been expecting it." He was leaning toward retirement after this year. So the homer could have been it. #reds

Right.

He also said he felt something pop, which is never good; but at his age is a career ender.

Im just saying im not a huge fan of our top 3 against any of the other teams top 3. But if Edinson pitches like he did in this game then ill feel better.

I'd prefer to see the Reds and Padres in the NLCS but as long as the Reds get there I don't care who they play. The only bad thing is that Chris Carpenter is somehow going to have to explain it to his kid.

For Tiger2003 since he doesn't know what the Chris Carpenter reference is for:
"The thing is it makes baseball look (bad) because everybody is talking about it. Unfortunately, it got out of control," Carpenter said. "The hard thing was trying to explain to my son, who saw it 17 times, why is Scott Rolen attacking me? Why is everyone pushing me into the net? Why were they doing that? Why is your back messed up? Why is that guy kicking Mr. LaRue in the face? And you can't explain to a 7-year-old that at a baseball game that happens."

I'd start by saying that Scott Rolen might have been attacking him because he inserted himself into a situation that was pretty much defused and started shit back up again.

But I think that might involve Carpenter doing something along the lines of accepting some sort of responsibility for the brawl...and it's a lot easier to completely blame the other team for everything that happened as your team plummets completely out of contention like they were the Pirates in May.

Yup. But how is Chris Carpenter going to explain to his son that his daddy is a whiny bitch?

Probably by putting on his spikes and kicking him from behind. That's usually a pretty good indication of bitchyness.

Ahh, he won't have to say anything. His kid will figure it out himself in about (let's see...he's 7...so) 8-9 years. Possibly when they're doing a bit of practice in the yard and his kid takes him deep once...so Carpenter beans him on his next pitch.
