From the AI thread, I'm going to be using ChatGPT to post at least a new thread every day. This seemed like a good place to start.
My wife accuses me of having hobby ADD because I tend to pick up new ones for a while and then abandon them. Woodworking (bought a ton of tools but never had the proper spot for a workshop ended up selling most), home brewing (have spent a ton on equipment over the years, and have brewed a lot, but haven't in a couple years), etc.
My record collection is definitely my most active hobby. It's been going pretty strong for a couple years now and I really see no reason I'd ever stop collecting or sell my current collection unless things got really bad for us. It mostly started after my father-in-law gave me a stack of his old albums. I had a few albums I had bought at Amoeba Records in SF back in 2013 but never bought a record player. I think my wife told her mom and I ended up getting one of those little Crosley briefcase turntables for Christmas. Then a few years later he found his old records and let me pick thru and take any that I wanted. Then I got a new turntable, and then it spiraled into what it is now. I don't have an exact count but I'm sure I'm pushing 650-700 albums at this point. I have over 500 cataloged on Discogs, and I'm certain I have at least a 100 unaccounted for, likely more.
