Anyone have any luck this year? Not sure if it's too early or too late, I'm pretty much out of practice with it, but I'm hoping to find a few this year.
I used to find a ton of them every year on my grandparents farm. Over 120 acres, probably 60 of them wooded, made for prime hunting ground.
Last year, I found one (just one) in my backyard flower bed. I ate it.

All mushrooms are good/great, but morels are amazing.
Wife, son and I ventured out in my Dad’s woods for about an hour...found nothing but enjoyed going through the woods. My wife grew up doing it...I had never been.

Just got back from the woods......checked some tree stands, took the pups and my 5th grader. Found a sandy beach on the river and hung out.
After sticking my finger in the soil in a few spots.....not warm enough here in West Central Ohio

Absolutely true! 55-60 years ago we used to find them on our farm, in the woods along the creek, in west central Ohio. Haven't looked much in the last 50 years. Found a prime one about 20 years ago in the flower bed as I walked into a bank. After I did my banking I snatched it -- was very good fried in butter. Prime season was late April to mid May, when there was plenty of moisture and the temps got up over 75F for a couple days. Most memorable find was on my birthday, May 12.
still early in east central Ohio. sometimes I find 5 sometimes I find 50.
Going to Southern Ohio this weekend, hopefully they are popping in Vinton Co.
