A few weeks ago, large amounts of cash kept turning up in random bathrooms in Marysville.
What would you do if you randomly stumbled upon a random bag of cash. Say... $10,000.
Are you returning the money? Keeping it?
My brain would probably click into "someone is testing me" mode and I'd return it and/or call the cops.
Neither - I'd assume it belongs to someone that wouldn't be too happy with me finding it, and get the hell out of dodge!
Maybe notify the cops, but only after I was long gone.

Yeah, I would fear it’s a setup and just leave it.
Say you were able to locate the money and get it home. How do you spend it without raising awareness to having it?
I'd just tap it for ordinary purchases (food, gas, etc) until it was gone.

Funny story about found money. My wife found a 50$ bill on the ground leaving her building and notified the security that she found a sum of money and if they can say how much she will give it to the person. So they send out a memo about anyone losing money to contact security. A month goes by and she checks and no one came forward saying they lost any money so she kept the money and gifted it to a friend as part of a baby shower. The friend calls her and was like heyyy umm so this 50$ bill says “For movie production use only” It was fake haha

Back in my McDonalds days during college we had a crazy busy Friday night. After hours (midnight) I was in charge of counting stock and doing the daily books. I had to go outside to our shed to count. On way out I see a gold money clip with a folded up $1 on the outside….I go pick it up and take it to shed. In shed I realize it was a $1 with 10 $20 bills for $201. Procedure was to turn into shift manager but shift manager was a notorious keeper of funds the workers all knew about….he wasn’t to be trusted. I kept it for 2 months to see if anyone claimed and no one did. I kept it. 🤷🏻♂️

We were in one of the casinos and I found a few hundred dollars lying on the floor in the high dollar room. I picked it up and gave it to an attendant.
I mean, sure there would be the fear of the money having some sort of illicit purpose and everything being watched and me being caught and horribly killed for thinking I could just sneak it away, but...well, that would probably play a pretty big role in me deciding to just forget I saw it and go on with my life.
FTR, I am keeping anything up to a few thousand. And at that point, depends on how/where it was found, and the "condition" its in (if its wrapped and stacked like a bank, nope. If its just a bunch of money that someone clearly dropped in vegas, yep!)

Watch No Country for Old Men first. You do not want Anton Cigurh on your case in any way, shape or form. You leave a huge cache of money right where you find it. Otherwise you’re going to be able to answer the question, “What’s the most you ever lost in a coin toss?”

It wasn’t great, but it was fine. Billy Bob, and the other dude I thought were awesome. And Bridget Fonda was the perfect horrible person wife.
