Bought new last April. Took 6 months total. After searching endlessly, I said fuck it and ordered directly from Toyota. 

Luckily, I paid MSRP and didn’t have to deal with the insane dealer markups you’re seeing today. 

Don’t have much of an opinion from that list other than….if you’re referring to the actual Bronco and not the Sport be prepared to grossly overpay or just wait months. First roll out had a lot of issues so I’d wait.

I’ve heard horror stories of people ordering and then dealers marking them up an extra 15k when they arrive. 

Just bought a 2020 Acura with 20,000 miles…..got the monthly payment we wanted with no down payment and no trade in. Was zero stress.

I will need a car in a few months so I will be starting to look in about 2 (have a few other things I want to pay off first). My beater is 10 years old and has 200,000 miles. Runs fine but looks like the Hulk attacked all the panels. Would take $1000s in body work to not look like shit. 

I have driven it like this for a couple years because it’s paid off and I hate car payments. But it is time.

Looking for a truck but my dad was trying to get a truck in the fall and I am not looking forward to what he went through. He just decided to keep his car he has for now and avoid the BS.

The better half could use something new or much newer, but it is a nightmare right now.  Was just in Carolina and a relative said a vehicle he recently looked at had "market adjustment +$10,000" on the MSRP sticker.  We'll probably just stretch it further for at least 6 more months, maybe a year. 

I bought a Mach-E in January. Paid sticker...which admittedly I never had to do before. But at least it wasn't over.

I highly recommend the CPO market, though with the way things are those may not be much cheaper than brand new right now.

As for the dealer jacking the price on you after the vehicle is delivered, I'm pretty sure that's a violation of their franchise contract with the OEM's.  So if they tried to take advantage, I'd be like "what's the number of your franchise manager at GM?".

I don't drive much, and have been toying with the idea of selling the CPO vehicle I bought 3 years ago - could get almost what I paid for it.

But then it could be a good 12-18 months before the market normalizes and I'd get a decent deal on another vehicle.  In the end, it doesn't really look like I'd save much money, and be stuck with driving a 10-yr old vehicle for a year or two.

Just an awful time to buy a car.  But what are you going to do if you need a new car?

Yeah I’m to the point I’m just going to try and time trade in and purchase so I still get a good trade in value but new prices are at least stable unless I buy a Tesla. The only bad thing about that is if interest rates continue to rise the next 12 months. 

My wife times her car perfectly and bought right at the start of Covid.

Heh, timely bump on this one, as I just hit the market for something new. Well, either that or drop $7700 for a new engine for a car I've had for over six years, which sure as hell isn't happening. Such is life!

One of those things where the car I had (Fusion EcoBoost engine) seems to have had an issue where they can potentially develop issues with the head gasket and engine. Was getting a bit of work done on it and the local mechanic brought up that issue, saying that it was related to the stuff I needed done and, well, here we are in a situation where the car does run (most of the time), but coolant leaks into a cylinder and so it's more or less shot. Looked things up online and found out that a lot of people with similar cars have dealt with the same problem. And, of course since this is an expensive repair, despite it being an issue with the make, Ford sure as hell isn't going to include it in their parts recalls they do for lesser problems.
