I'd agree that people losing their jobs via COVID should have gotten what they were getting instead of this fancy formula. According to Ohio unemployment rules, it's what? Half your base salary plus that bonus $600 per check? Doing the math, that'd mean the break-even point would be $1200/week salary, which is $62+K per year. I would guess that if you took all the people placed into unemployment, there would be far more getting more money to do nothing than there would be taking that cut. Nice bonus if you can get it, I guess, but seems wasteful and unnecessary.
