Evidence is building instead that some officials at the FBI—who have worked for him—may have interfered in an American presidential election. Congress needs to insist on its rights as a co-equal branch of government to discover the truth.

Also, this is hyperbole.  How did the FBI "interefere" in the presidential election.  If they did at all, it helped Trump with the October surprise on the Hillary/Huma Abedin emails.  But I saw nothing come out that could be construed as the FBI trying to take down candidate Trump.  President-elect and President Trump, however, is another story.

According to the article, these are accusations being brought by the Committee to Defend the President aka The Stop Hillary Committee.  So whenever a group like this files a complaint, is it best to believe it whole heartedly.  Could there possibly be any political motivation at work?

I am not under the assumption that any presidential campaign is pure like the wind driven snow.  But watching these two camplaigns still spouting accusations at one another and acting astonished with every new one is like kindergarteners on the playground fighting over a Tonka truck.  

Imagine if only we could weaponize the IRS to go after the Clinton money-laundering --- foundation, DNC, campaign --- just as obama did with conservative groups.  

Wasn't sure where to put this, but I figured since this thread talks about some of this I'd put it here. I don't really know if I have anything to say about it at this time, mainly because I don't think there's much I /can/ say.

Maybe it is just me, but bigger issues that I would focus on in Congress: 

• Actual tax reform 
• Infrastructure projects and how to pay for them 
• SS and Medicare reform 
• Reform of Defense spending 
• Debate on powers of the President to launch military actions post  9/11 
• Cyber security and laws of warfare regarding cyber crime 
• Restructing the federal agencies, reduce the federal government to be more efficient 

Term limits....... Politic should not be a career

Wasn't sure where to put this, but I figured since this thread talks about some of this I'd put it here. I don't really know if I have anything to say about it at this time, mainly because I don't think there's much I /can/ say.

It looks to me like the only real thing of consequence Russia accomplished was making it LOOK like there was collusion and shenanigans with multiple parties.  Which I think is kind of how those operations work - you can't actually get it done, but making it look like you did is just as effective.

THe Russians were cooking on both burners, HC and DT.  THey were banking on having either winner in their pocket.  

This is what happens when we have feckless leadership from our last admnistration.

That was my point....they made it LOOK like there was a connection with both HC and DT, but I don't think there's actually much (if anything) there.

One theory I had is that Comey/Mueller were no longer really going after Trump, but instead trying to thread the needle of justifying a politically motivated witch hunt while providing a full and convincing exoneration.

You kind of are seeing this more and more - "well, no, the investigation was not based on the Dossier....Carter Page made a drunken comment to the Australian Ambassador about the Russians having dirt on Hillary, and because of this we decided we urgently needed to investigate...Donald Trump"

One can only wonder which records, hard drives, and other documents necessary to a criminal investigation are going up in flames.
