One thing that I think would have a massive positive impact on society, and something that is within the legal purview of the President to change with Executive Order, would be to reschedule cannabis from schedule I to something more reasonable. I'm not sure if that alone is enough to technically decriminalize it at the federal level, but it's an absolute travesty that it hasn't been done already. I'm honestly surprised more people aren't upset at Obama for not doing that before leaving office.

If I could just eliminate the DEA outright, I'd likely do that instead.

Abolish Title IX.

Abolish the IRS and implement a small consumption tax.  Making the government only the size of the economy.

He can use it to attack his political enemies.  He should be able to disband it.  

If it were me. I would bring every soldier home from around the world and station them along the border.  

I would sign into legislation a plan that would reduce government by 40% over the next 20 years. This would include superfluous jobs, jobs that didn't fit into what should be considered the federal government's role, drastically reduce the size of welfare agencies and drastically reduce military spending.

I would mainly just want to know shit. I would like to have access and be read into our current nuclear war plans, the latest intel and secrets, and all of the other deepest darkest secrets the U.S. has. What's true and what's Hollywood? 

EO wise, I would also see if I could get as much declassified as possible about the history of the Cold War and things we did during those years. I would also like to declassify/ revamp the current declassification system as it seems too restrictive. 

I would also start a study to look at really reforming the DOD Budget and trying to get enough support for it to keep it going after my one day.

I would fire each and every Senator and Representative and have each state start over again.

Both parties have proved that they cannot work together for the common good and that all they are interested in is being re-elected rather than actually governing this country.  Part of this would be to enact term limits to ensure that being in congress is not a career.

Ok, having some fun. If I had the power to pass and execute laws for a day, I would still declassify a lot of things, but would also force the Congress to completely revamp the budget process based on feasibility and forcing actual cuts and reforms to programs long thought to be untouchable. (SS, Medicare, DOD). I would also audit the DOD and SS. 

Being unrealistic, term limits for Congress.

Being realistic, review all past Executive Orders & Actions taking power from the states, and where possible return it to the states (done in manner such that a later POTUS can't reverse it).

POTUS for a day...I would pack in as much as possible. 

Do Melania.

Jet off to Area 51 - take selfies with aliens/UFOs.

Fire Betsy Devos and shutter the DOE.

Make prank calls to numerous world leaders - maybe send Angela Merkel a dick pic. 

Submit a budget to Congress that eliminates baseline budgeting, freezes spending at current levels for 4 years, and indexes all increases past that to inflation.

Do Melania again.

Change all the nuclear codes to 867-5309.

Make my birthday a national holiday.
