EDIT: Then again, the sad thing is that tactic gets used because it works. All you have to do is look on Twitter and see tons of people fired up making this a pure Trump vs. Biden thing where one guy has to be 100% wrong, as opposed to an "everyone fucked up in their own way" thing. Did you listen to the “zero blog thirty” that came out yesterday (after Chapps blog post I think)? It kinda sounds like it based on your post, but it was well done. 

Didn't listen to it, but I have read both Kate's and Chap's posts on the situation. Kate's was more about the personal shock and disillusionment being felt after being there and experiencing that shit and then having stuff happen to make it all meaningless in the end. As far as the "nuts-and-bolts" stuff, I (obviously, since I posted some of it) really liked Chap's take where he put the final blame on Biden to the degree he feels he should step down, but also pointed out that the end result is the fault of 20+ years of mismanagement by four presidents and Congress, with Joe's ineptitude down the stretch being the final blunder in a string of them.

In today's world of blog/Twitter/news show "experts", it was really refreshing to read something by a person who (a) actually has personal knowledge of how things work and (b) looked at a complicated issue from all angles instead of simply simplifying things down to "what makes 'my side' look blameless, while the other guys take all the blame".

Heh, I didn't even know Moore was still alive until you posted this, so it accomplished one thing.

It is a colossal disaster for obama and biden in particular, and a worldwide embarrassment for the U.S.  Cut and run, baby .......that bodes well for the future.  Yet another stunning disgrace for the 'expert community' as well.  How anyone continues to listen to these jackasses on any topic is a mystery. 

Fortunately we had only lost one soldier in battle since February, 2020, but this catastrophic display of idiocy is going to be far, far costlier.

Good fucking brain job. Feels like one of CC's names was president.

Beyond blind partisans who support their side and spin everything so they were right, I don't see how anyone can support any of our leaders over their actions/roles in this failed war. They all suck at anything practical because they suck party dick. Some suck it more than others, but if they are someone, they suck it and if they don't, they get censured.

Sad as it is to say, we probably deserve the inevitable China takeover.

Ehhh. The leader of the takeover of Afghanistan was released by Obama, but the guy who is going to be President was released by Trump. Trump also released 5,000 others, some of which are currently also fighting for the Taliban.

I lean more conservative and am in the middle on a lot of stuff, but common jackass sense shows that both parties pissed down their legs on this. Some maybe a little more than others.

Sounds like we’re all in agreement that each party and multiple presidents played a role except one jackass who, to no surprise, is wrong as usual.

We had a situation that was neutralized; we had 2,500 non-combat troops there in addition to 6,000 NATO.  We have deterred another 9/11 times X.   We now have a catastrophic shit show:  the most incredibly inept operation of an absolutely horrific "plan".  Hey, let's yank out all military before any civilians ........  insane.  Let's beg terrorists to insure safe passage ...... insane.  Let's negotiate with terrorists a month after Biden says he doesn't trust the Taliban at all........ insane.   Let's hand our weapons over to terrorists, then have to go back in and fight them to get people out ..... insane.  

Everything these complete jackasses have touched in seven months has become a complete disaster.   They should be summarily removed from office. 

I will say that as soon as Joke Biden was elected that I expected to see another 9/11-like attack on American soil.
