Beyond Bad
Huge game tonight for the young kids. Nations League Final vs Mexico. By far the most talented group of players the USMNT has ever assembled, but the sum is still a work in progress. Tonight is a big test to see how far they have come vs how far to still go.
I know most diehards are watching, but if any casuals want to tune in, it’s a 9:30 kickoff on CBSSN (or Paramount Plus).
This game has been amazing.
I mean. Simply incredible!!
I woke up for work, and I was able to see the final 20 minutes. What an electric ending. This is the first USMNT roster that legitimately makes me excited for the future.

The fact that Pulisic was regarded as the greatest American player we’ve seen, and has actually progressed from that point quite well…yet might only be the 4th best player on his own national team is astounding.
I’m pumped to see how these young guys grow together and learn how to play with each other. Even last night you could see the flashes of greatness, but mixed with uncertainty of movement and placement. It will come with games.

Agreed, this should be one of the better teams ever
Ricardo Pepi continues to score huge goals. A brace in the 2-0 win tonight.
Musah FINALLY cap tied to America, and damn good thing. He was awesome. Musah, McKennie, and Adams is the type of midfield that the best teams in the world employ. They bossed.
Pepi seems like he could be the missing piece for this team. They needed a natural goal scorer and found one. Now we need the defense to play more consistent and we could be a real soccer power the next 3 world cups.
Fuck Mexico and fuck this shit ass ref in this game. Absolute trash.
And Pulisic back from the dead with a huge goal!
2-0. Fuck Mexico. Always dirty.

I’m gonna catch heat, but I thought he was pretty excellent all night. Missed the red card, but assessed proper yellows in that situation.
Weah man, what can you say? Just a fucking stud on the wing last few games. Reyna, who was arguably the best player for USMNT over the last year, will have his work cut out to even see the field right now.
Love seeing the dos a cero tradition come back to Ohio!
Now let’s get 3 more in Jamaica.
USA group set with England, Iran, and either Wales, Scotland, or Ukraine. Apparently the US and England game should be on the day after Thanksgiving.
Not a terrible group I guess.
I’m still confused as hell with the added teams.
Like why all these playoffs? Why so many African teams? Why is Iran playing qualifiers against Korea?
So, being what that I don't really follow soccer, does the US draw mean they'll go 1-2 and be done, or go 2-1 and then get eliminated in the first round of the elimination tournament?

Nothing has changed? That doesnt take effect until after the USA hosted one, or 2030.
Africa gets so many teams, cause their federation is rightly weighted 3rd best behind Europe and SA. The playoffs are always a thing...European shouldve been done, but stupid Russia so they had to rearrange. The Inter-continental is because Asia gets .5 a team, Concacaf gets 3.5. Those .5 play for the spot. Always been this way.
Iran is in Asia...with Korea? Why wouldnt they qualify with them?

Decent chance to advance to quarters, actually. We have Ntherlands/Senegal likely in Round of 16. That could be a win or even us favored. But then probs France and see ya.
That said, our group isn't big on history or names...but its deep. Maybe the toughest top to bottom, but without that far and away top team. We can win/lose/draw any of the potential 5 teams we play.
