Single best/worst uniform item in sports

What is the single best uniform item in sports? This could be a baseball hat, football helmet, jersey, etc. But the piece has to stand alone, not be part of a larger uniform. It also has to be current, so no old school throwback stuff.

Lots of great options out there. Lots of shitty options out there.

I'm probably taking the Bengals helmet as my #1.

What's the worst piece?

I'm going to have to think on this one.

Some best:

Football helmet - Michigan Wolverines (you can show that helmet to anyone and they know it)

Logo - Chicago Bulls (iconic)

Jersey - love what the Brewers have done

also, loved the Raptor jersey as a kid growing up

I feel like there are going to be a ton of horrible uniforms in college so I'm not gonna go there.

I definitely hate the Patriots helmet, and the Broncos helmet is aging poorly for me.

Best uniform item: The cup. Protects the most important parts

Worst: The old school striped Astros jerseys

Lol. Ignore my Raptors and Pistons choices then.

For major sports best current uni's:

MLB - Brewers and Mariners

NFL - Buffalo Bills (just sharp looking colors and scheme)

NBA - Phoenix Suns (The Valley ones specifically)

NHL - Buffalo Sabres (but even their black/red scheme was cool)

They somehow made my favorite all time logo...almost the worst of the current 5 they have. Just an incredible job by whoever was making these decisions on their rebrand.

The C is good. That G is just so inconsistent. Two cured "corners" but every other one comes to a point. The way it narrows into the serif. And the serif drops lower than the bottom of the G.

Favorites:

Browns home unis (brown jersey, white pants)

OSU home unis (not all black “costumes”, scarlet and gray colors)

UCLA home football unis

Yankees home unis

Southern Cal home unis

Steelers home unis (makes me vomit in my mouth to say this)

Finally, fuck Michigan and their helmets. Those helmets weren’t even their idea; their coach brought them from Princeton. Besides, Michigan experienced its greatest success prior to those helmets - in the leather helmet era when they regularly beat foes like Ann Arbor High School, Detroit Athletic Club and the Harvard Club of Chicago (all “victories” included in their all time wins total).

I’m also a huge fan of Indiana soccer putting a star (back of jersey, neck portion) over the logo for each championship they have.

The overall jerseys are just fine though. I think basketball adapted this a few years ago, and I love the baseketball one, as a traditionalist.
