Anyone still do Sunday Ticket? I'm considering it this year now that it's streaming and the Jets should be a playoff team. 400 bucks, though.

Youtube TV + location spoofer = watch any game in its home market for free.

The other trick is to use a VPN for European locale and buy individual games on Gamepass.  It's something like $20-$25 per week.  You can usually get 1 free week per email address, too.

This maybe the first year in about 6 years I haven't had it. Got it through DirecTV for years at a discount (paid less than half each year because I threatened to cancel it each time).

Now that DirecTV only has rights to it for businesses, I probably won't be getting it.

I used it to watch multiple games at once at the 1 and 4pm slots on Sundays for fantasy football reasons.

I purchased it the day it was available. I already had YouTubeTV so got it for a discount, plus the early bird discount.

YouTubeTV also just launched cross sport/network multi view. They had it for the NCAAT but that is all the same family of networks. This is fox football, with espn baseball, etc. And will be available for ST this year.

YouTubeTV uses your sign up address as the local channels. So if you are out of market from that, you can watch, but you don’t get the local channels of the “fake location”.

Vpn also doesn’t work unless you have the vpn in the actual router. They have blocked access for any kind of vpn being enabled.

What is the cost now for it through YouTube TV?

I am seeing $339 for Sunday Ticket and Redzone. $75/mo. seems about right for being able to watch any game for 18 weeks.

I just stream it for free. Will YouTubetv be any more live (less delayed) then the free streaming options?

If you're talking about the seedy streaming sites littered with ads, I did those last year and they just weren't reliable enough.

You're obviously doing it wrong because it works for me, and has been working for years.

You absolutely get the local channels of the fake location, it's a downside from staying logged to the other market.

All streaming options will have a lag.  There even a slight lag of a few seconds on network tv (if you're watching a Boston market game in, say, Denver).

YT TV in my experience can lag up to 30 seconds.  Not as bad as some of the free options, but similar in many cases.  But YT TV is pretty flawless IMO, even better than Gamepass which suffered about 2-3 minor glitches per game.

Well, you also have the $75 per month for YT TV, with taxes.

Using a VPN to watch Gamepass [Europe] is usually a solid choice as most games are on national tv - less than 7-8 games per year is probably all you need to stream.  In the past, Gamepass was also discounted for students at $99 for the season.

They have gotten better. When I started streaming (sling now yttv) I couldn’t be on Twitter watching a game. There are times I am ahead of the general masses reaction now. I would say they are pretty close to a standard cable broadcast (OTA obviously faster).

They are selling it independently, so you do not need to join the “cable” subscription.

Maybe. I was good for close to a year. My friends tried to mimic and they couldn’t. About 3 months later they caught up to me and I could only get Toledo channels (where I had signed up). So I had to switch my home location to Chicago within 2 weeks or they were gonna shut it down.

When I travel now, even with a vpn, it gives me a 2 week buffer to stream from away from home before logging back in from Chicago.

I should note, initially the local channels were there but greyed out. Maybe they have changed that…in which case, a con should work in theory — if it gets past the location requirement software.

I don't know.  I expected them to crack down now that they have Ticket, but just last week I streamed the PIT preseason game this way.  But I'm not betting on that continuing into the regular season.

Maybe I was grandfathered (only had YT TV for a little over a year), because it gives me the option to switch home locations up to twice a year (obviously intended for snowbirds).  But it also lets me switch for "traveling" seemingly unlimited.  I always switch back later that day, or the next.  Or it does it on its own after rebooting devices.

It's not always a flawless process.  Sometimes it takes me several tries to get it to stick, but then it's good

I should add, I'm not using a VPN per se.  I'm using a GPS/Location spoofer on my phone to change my location to Pittsburgh, and then syncing with YT TV on my television.  The VPN was when I was signing into Gamepass "from" Europe.

Ahhh.... I have always had a lot more success on my phone for stuff. I will agree there. But for NFL, I need the actual TV cause with 2 young kids, its more background. Especially the 1st half of 1PM games and the later games.

You don't have to pay for YouTube TV to get it. You get a $100 discount if you have YouTube TV.

So the process is: start GPS spoofer on my phone and change location to PIT.  Then I usually have to start and kill YTTV app on my phone, and then for some reason reboot my phone.  After reboot, run spoofer again and now YTTV on my phone will say "Pittburgh".  Then I start YT TV on my television (I'm using chrome stick), go to settings and then refresh location from my phone.  Boom - location changes on the television.

That makes sense. I was using VPN on phone and basically doing that. I would logon to computer and say confirm location via phone. Use the phone (VPN to Toledo) to get Browns games. Then the app on the TV would pull from that location also. But, then VPN that got killed, I never investigated the spoofer and restarts.
