They are a solid team, with a great coach. But Jimmy Butler is not good enough to win a title as the best player.

This has not aged well, thus far.

Was waiting till they beat Celtics to call myself out, since I did have them over the Bucks before the playoffs started. Didn’t think they’d be good enough to get past Boston or Toronto though.

I’ll still say Lakers in 5, maybe 6 with a fluke game in there.

I’ve kinda lost interest and barely watched any of the conference finals. Lakers in 5.

I’m enjoying LeBron wreck the league in year 17. Dude is an animal.

I try and watch his games as much as possible, because a few years ago I remember my dad telling me he regrets missing MJ games for random cbk games or whatever when he was younger. Don’t take watching greatness for granted.

I’ve only watched about 7 minutes of the ECF/SF though. Neither of those series were compelling to me.

This series is over, imo. Miami might win a game, maybe 2, but they aren’t winning 4.

I get what you are saying, but it has been a struggle for me to watch the playoffs. I think that it is a combination of baseball pennant races, football, and my basketball team being almost 7 months removed from playing a game. Some players are going to end up with a 9 or 10 month off-season.

Yeah all that talk about having a mini season or whatever it was for the teams left out of Orlando really dropped off.

I'm laughing at social media idiots calling this "Lebron's Mickey Mouse ring," and trashing him (not the Lakers... him) for this ring being an asterisk.  Would it be an asterisk if the Magic won?  If the Heat win?  If the Bucks won, and Giannis got his first?  I am, by no means, a Lebron nut-hugger, but I lol hard at the people that go out of their way to bash him incessantly.

If anything this hurt the better teams. Lakers were the 1 seed and favorites to win it all. It is not a stretch at all to assume they win in a normal setting, either.

Bam and Dragic both listed as doubtful for game 2.

Dragic tore his plantar fascia. That’s an injury that he could still possibly play with??

I guess they’re not ruling him out, but yeah.

If I read correctly, the masked singer had better ratings then the NBA finals.

I don’t know about that, but could be.

Ratings were definitely down, with the the caveat that you lost significant likely viewers in the 2 largest markets to MLB (NY and LA), including the Lakers direct market. Overall, TV viewership is down about 31%, so, numbers are more in line with that, than the actual sport itself.

Also, stop playing at 9. No reason these games can’t start at 8.

Doc is the new 76ers coach. Enjoy more early playoff exits, Philly.

I call bullshit on Dragic playing another minute in this series, if that’s what the injury is. Even plantar fasciitis alone would be tough to play on.

Russillo and Simmons were making good points in their podcast today about the next season starting. The NBA is crazy if they think they’re coming back in December or January. Why would they even attempt that? Fans still would barely allowed be in. If they held out to March then maybe things looked different? Who knows.

Because Silver is smart and knows they need to get the NBA to be a spring and summer finish, with playoffs ending just before football. Only competing vs MLB would be a godsend for the sport (and a huge plus to fans). January is the latest they can do that. Ideally, Christmas Day is their opening day, but probably not this year. I’d think maybe the 2022 season they can pull that off.

Can’t believe the Lakers have two unstoppable players but Danny Green and Caldwell-Pope still  manage to shoot a combined 3/19  three pointers
