Anyone following this?  It's bonkers.  I never saw "The Blindside", but apparently Michael Oher is accusing his wealthy, adoptive family of tricking him into giving them his royalties from the movie.

The family is worth over $200M.  Supposedly they all got like $14k from the movie, which seems shady.  Although Hollywood is known to screw people over rights/profits, $14k sounds as unbelievable as the family pocketing his $15M.

I never saw the movie, but read the book. It was a nice story, but in hindsight seemed a little cliched (I actually liked the part of the book that explained the evolution of the left tackle as the most important offensive player besides qb).

It’s a great flick.

But I’m just wondering…why has all of this come out now?

It came out now bc he releasing a book. Also he is full of it. He says he learned of the conservatorship recently but he wrote about it in his book in 2011. My guess is he’s broke

Oh he’s definitely broke…..wonder if he’s asked family for help and they refused?

I don’t think the movie family would turn their back on him.

That's interesting.

Makes sense, but doesn't have to be broke to stoop to this level to promote a book.  Family could even be in on it.

The timing of this coming out is suspicious, but also it’s the SEC/Mississippi and I would not be shocked one bit if it’s true.
