I just want the W but it will be a little disappointing if they don't blow Houston out by at least 10 points.
Oh. Good…
Defense needs to step up
Yeah, so much for this re-vamped defense.
Ugly but we'll take it. 1-1 with everyone else in the division and the Rats likely to be 0-2.
Somehow I have the feeling that had Tyrod not gone down with that hammy the Browns would be staring at 0-2 as well.
Defense is still pretty disappointing, especially Garrett.

You got your wish! Nice.
My family is very happy that the Browns won (based on my behavior a week ago).

He played one of his best games of his career last week. And was doubled on virtually every play today.
Defense was solid and then got wrecked on 3rd downs. Ward was trash for a solid stretch today. But mostly it’s the LB that aren’t holding up. JOK needs to learn the NFL game quickly because he’s the only one with actual NFL speed and athleticism.

I get what you're saying on the double teams but guys like TJ Watt (similar role, except one has his hand in the dirt, one doesn't) get doubled and still get theirs. Myles needs to step up and make more impact/difference making plays. In fact the whole defense needs to.
Part of this is on Joe Woods. Dude almost never blitzes but when he does, surprise, surprise, Delpit with a nasty sack on Mills.

I mentioned it seemed like the D had been really solid on 1st and 2nd downs. I didn't realize it was THIS bad on 3rd though. And quite a few are in 3rd and relatively long...
Forcing 13 and 14 3rd down attempts is actually VERY encouraging. Especially vs KC (for reference, they only faced 6 last night vs Baltimore). But not converting those into stops has been back breaking (more reference, KC only converted 1 of those 6 last night). I can vivedly remember Clowney blowing up 3 plays in the backfield this year on 1st down. All 3 have been subsequently converted on 3rd down. If they can just get home even half the time, they are going to be in position to win virtually every game they play. Because this offense is structured to score and more importantly structured to finish drives with TDs. Even without some stars, the offense will put up a lot of points.

- vs KC - 9/13 converted against
- vs Houston - 8/14 converted against
- on season - 17/27 converted (63%) against

Wasn't aware of the 1st/2nd down stats but was VERY aware of the 3rd downs. Defense can't get off the field and part of this is Woods' cushy defense. I get that last year he had to do things with mirrors because of bad personnel but that's not the case now. Needs to bring more blitzes imo.
Stefanski said Jarvis has an MCL sprain and is "week to week" but hasn't ruled him out for Sunday. Jarvis will probably want to go but I'd be surprised if they played him.

That's huge. Need OBJ back. Landry can fill in for OBJ and Higgins can fill in for Landry. But no one can fill in for Landry filling in for OBJ lol.
Also sounds like the injury Baker sustained yesterday typically requires surgery to repair it from it happening over & over. He played in a sling after it happened. I guess if he would've sustained this to his throwing shoulder he likely would've been done for an extended period, perhaps the year. Not sure if this will require offseason surgery but something to watch. Has the rookie WR, alligator arming that pass, to thank for that.

This is a recurring theme every season and it's obnoxious.
Landry put on IR.
Minimum of 3 weeks. Which is about in line for what a sprain would be. Hopefully OBJ is actually healthy and not just playing becasue LAndry is out. Higgins should be able to fill in for LAndry nicely if OBJ is a true threat, imo.
Looks like Fields will get the start on Sunday. Gotta say I'm a bit more concerned with his mobility than I am with the Ginger Peashooter's experience. Maybe his mobility will give them a slight taste of what they'll have coming up with Kyler Murray.

Yeah, Fields may not be ready, but his improve will likely provide more spark and a tougher cover for the Browns.
