Heard this morning that he apparently dropped the old "yo mama so fat" on a Browns player. Bur seriously, #73 got the taunting call for saying something derogatory about Clowney's mother. I kid you not.

I’m glad these guys have football because many wouldn’t make it in regular life.

Hunt & Conklin to return to practice, and possibly play, this week. If Stefanski has a "Mack & Byner" package, which he's discussed (not by that name), this would be the week to unleash it.

I wouldn't worry about anything PFF has to say.  It's less scientific than Madden ratings.

Some of the stuff PFF does is head scratching. I think one week Aaron Rodgers threw 4 TD's yet Cody Kessler was the top ranked PFF QB (an example...not sure it was Rodgers but it was Kessler.) Browns offense AND defense were both top 5 going into this week per PFF (according to the radio). Now does anyone believe this?

It's garbage.  It's not scientific, at all, and you simply can't run those metrics without knowing the playcall, watching the All-22 footage, and adjusting for the opponent.

Football Outsiders is far superior.  DVOA isn't perfect, and it's a little early in the season.  Unfortunately, it's now a subscription.  And, LOL, I see they just last week they had BUF back to #1 in DVOA.  Like I said, it's a bit early for it to converge to reality.

They are far from perfect, but they are very good for specific positions. O-Line and Secondary, in particular. They do watch the All-22, and study each player individually on each play. They don't take into consideration the opponent, but they are grading players on their individual performance. Opponent doesn't really matter. Play call matters, but kinda impossible for anyone to get that data. But also goes to the point of why they are so good for O-Line and secondary. They can judge those guys off of Pass/Rush/Play-Action. The rest of the play has some influence, but thats a solid starting point.

My biggest problem with them may be how dumb a lot of them are as individuals. I dont think that really matters for their job performance, but I cant help but be a skeptic on it.

Serious question, did you ever play football beyond junior high?

The pff system is very similar to the grading system that HS, college, and NFL coaching staffs use to grade players after games. It’s not a perfect scientific system, but  you get a lot of one on one evaluations.

A coaching staff can grade their own players more effectively because they know the play call and assignments. It is much less accurate when an outsider is grading.

I don't think PFF is the "end all, be all" but I've come around to some of the metrics they use. As mentioned, the use for grading OL is very solid. Also as mentioned, their grading of QB's can sometimes be way off in left field.

I don’t disagree, my point was the system used by PFF is very similar to how team internally grade players.  I think some people are under the impression that PFF are just a bunch of number nerds crunching numbers to come up with final grades.  This is not the case. In fact, all 32 NFL teams and over 80+ college football programs are clients of PFF.  As BR said, it’s not the “end all; be all,” but it’s a pretty good system. NFL teams and major college football programs wouldn’t buy into it if they didn’t believe in the data.

I am also with BR regarding the QB. That has seemed to be the one position that is a work in progress for PFF.  It makes sense considering the offensive trends seem to change in the NFL every 3 or so years.

No ones even close to the Browns as the most undisciplined team in the nfl. It’s infuriating

Joe Woods is infuriating. Did he even watch the Miami game?
