Throwback Thursday to the Mesozoic Era. :)
Wish I could locate my old blond persimmon 2 wood.

Can Lucas Glover keep it rolling for another week? My goodness what a miraculous turn of fortune with the new putting method! He was about to try left-handed after 10 years of the yips. Great story.
posted by Ironman92so that's where the term "hit it on the screws" came from.I’m getting the golf kick again for first time in a long time. Played 4 rounds in last 10 days and I’m close to being hooked again. Keeping things fun I got into my grandpas clubs from the late 70’s/early 80’s…..im going to carry the persimmon 4 wood. The 2 1/2 wood is unique and this driver is a WOW….I’d be afraid to use that piece of perfection.
I'm playing the Stadium Course at Sawgrass next week.
Hovland shoots a 61, with a 28 on the back and Scheffler scuffling the last 5 holes
And Scheffler hits a tree on 15 and para the easy par 5 and then the putter stopped working
Hovland with a huge win

Eight 3's, and a 4. Amazing.
Fedex Cup championship this weekend ..........will Scheffler do it?
And, who will the 6 captain's picks be for the Ryder Cup?

Not that anyone cares, but I shot an 87.

Went with a buddy and got pair up with one of their caddies playing on his day off. Dude really helped me make decisions. Started on 10 and shot a 47 on the "front" and shot a 40 on the "back" with a birdie on 4 and 9.

Just on what to hit, where to shoot for…how putts break? It makes sense anytime someone who is a 20 handicap is partnered up with a very knowledgeable player and they are willing to help…it’ll cut some strokes just better navigating the course.

Got Keegan Bradley this morning at a Top 5 finish w/ strokes at +250. Would be a cool story if he can win it.
Caddies, imo, have always been a massive help on approach shots and putts. They know after about 3-4 holes how you putt and can adjust their recommendations. I have a 35', its a 3-putt a few times a round. Give me a caddie, and its a 2-putt probably everytime. Thats where they cut the strokes, in my experience.
Then on approach shots, "Aim at the bunker on the right, its deceiving, tons of room over it will funnel to hole", or "this one is steep back to front, so take as much club as you want, it'll hold the green". That type of stuff.

Or for most people golf is damage control…. “Can’t miss long on this one” or just having assistance of how to play the smarter shot
Hovland was a beast.
