I golfed for the first time in 2 years today…forgot my golf shoes and slid around the first 6 holes

Shot 43-36

79, hell yeah. Literally worm burned 5 tee balls and made nothing until the 11th hole then I was en fuego, but still 0 birdies

Impressive! 

Thinking about running up to Detroit for a round at the Rocket Mortgage Classic this weekend.  We'll see.

I jumped in with 3 recent high school grads that didn’t golf but were very good athletes and they play most every day. They were hitting 9 irons and wedges and I was hitting 7 wood for same shot…..once I got moderately used to my putter I waxed them all. Navigating the course, chipping and putting is the score.

So Rickie finally gets it done as Morikawa flew it half a foot too far on the playoff hole…and because the PGA is a horrible run organization, no one was able to watch it lol.

It wouldn’t be a problem, but golf channel was showing it delayed and cbs coverage didn’t start till it was over (and also showed it delayed).

It’s 2023, golf channel HAS to show it live. If CBS wants to show it in full, after the fact, whatever. But the fact I had to stream it on my phone, thru the pga tour app, is asinine. ESPN+ had coverage (but it was labeled featured group) — though it ended after the 18, and didn’t cover the playoff. So I had to go to the app. Just ridiculous.

Yeah. Golf channel is an nbc owned property, but they share resources with cbs when cbs has weekend coverage. Did the production team and tech team is all cbs even though it’s airing on an nbc property. If you look closely, you can usually tell a cbs vs nbc broadcast on GC.

Since GC is nbc, if nbc has weekend coverage they will usually push to show the tournament live in those situations. But it’s still a PGA call. CBS still came on yesterday with over an hour of live tournament left and elected to pick up at the taped coverage. That I find to be stupid.

I watched it at 11:00 last night because I wanted to see Ricky win. Watched #18 and playoff #18

Disappointing it was not available live, bad call. 

Congrats to Fowler; great to see him climb all the way back!   Morikawa playing well also, looking forward to The Open.

Morikawa is gonna suck me right in to betting him at The Open. I just know it.

yeah, also thinking about Hovland and McIlroy and Hatton.

Rory is gonna be too high for me. But I really want him to (and think he will) win, so I may put a double or triple unit down and then limit my card on the backend. 

I’m getting the golf kick again for first time in a long time. Played 4 rounds in last 10 days and I’m close to being hooked again. Keeping things fun I got into my grandpas clubs from the late 70’s/early 80’s…..im going to carry the persimmon 4 wood. The 2 1/2 wood is unique and this driver is a WOW….I’d be afraid to use that piece of perfection.
