Glad to see Rickie is still hanging in there. I hope he finally gets his major.

A guy in my golf league just played a pro am in Columbus for the Memorial. His pro (Will McGirt) spoke very highly of Rickie.

Rickie is a good one….if he’s in it late tomorrow it’ll be electric

What I’m seeing early is Rickie is off, Rory’s putting seems iffy, Clark early on is solid and not yet thinking about what he’s doing. Scheffler doing his thing and putts not going in

I’ll guess

Scheffler -8

Rory -7

Clark -7

Schauffele -6

Fleetwood -5

Cantlay -5

Fowler -4

Rickie not getting any spin off the fairway with his wedges….cost him 2 strokes IMO

I just thought Clark would eventually feel the pressure….I guess he’s just going to run away with it

Why? That was pretty obvious.

So you want to have people determining what is kinda a hazard, but maybe not? It has to be black and white. Hazard/non-hazard. Otherwise you are saying the fairway could potentially have a plugged ball they aren’t allowed to replace.

That’s fair.  It I don’t mind that stuff. It’s lucky sure. But it’s not being so far offline you get trampled grass. Or so far over a green you hit the grandstand and it stops you and get a free drop. Etc. In tournament golf, you’re gonna have massive breaks. I don’t mind the rules.

Clark was in that unplayable stuff on 9 or 10 (I forget…I’ve watched 10 hours of sports in my chair today)…felt like he should’ve taken an unplayable even though he just missed his target) he either whiffed or hit it 2 inches and thought he might have to take an unplayable but he whacked it out and saved bogey.

They hit equal shots …I know over 72 holes so many breaks happen.

I hate the drive down the middle that lands in a divot….it doesn’t bother the pros much but I’d tip your golf cart over if I had to play out of it.

I think any shot not in the fairway or green (outside if a ball being in the grandstand or in a bag chair) play it as is…if you can

Rory has been good with the golf God’s…I don’t mind that, I don’t know that Clark and many others are good loyal dudes as well.

Unplayable and embedded are 2 very different things. Embedded it has broken ground and plugged, which the rules explicitly state is only to be enforced within a hazard. Outside a hazard, you are entitled to a golf ball that is not buried in the surface of the earth.
