Living within the city limits, I don't see nearly enough for my liking. We get a lot of rabbits, squirrels, and chipmunks. I've seem a possum here and there, surprisingly I've yet to see a racoon. A decent array of birds. No deer in our neighborhood.

Rural or suburban? I'm gonna guess you're not in an urban area with coyotes and deer.

Squirrels, lizards, lots of various coastal birds, deer, and alligators.  Occasionally people see coyotes. Live in the burbs. Oh and nasty palmetto bugs and copperheads.

I live on the edge of town....squirrels all over the place. Some rabbits, skunks, chipmunks, deer. Within 1/2 mile there are raccoons, possums, snakes that are fairly prevalent.

Some evenings we walk to top of high school hill and back and there is a family of red foxes. Cool to see

Are cougars the big ones like Mountain Lions? Like 5-6 feet long?.....or like bobcats about 3 feet in size?

Don’t wanna mess with either but mountain lions are huge....I see bobcats on my way to work sometimes and the occasional coyote.

Suburbs...

Armedillo, lizards, not nearly as many deer as Bay Village, OH, frogs, toads, copperheads and mean-ass bugs.

In Frederick, MD, we have a field that is across the way. We see ground hogs and rabbits a lot. Ground hogs are big suckers, probably 20 pounds. My area also has a ton of birds full of MLB team names......Orioles, Blue Jays, and Cardinals.

Suburbs of Chicago. We have a group of coyotes that live in the easement on our block/neighborhood. See them about once a week. Had a fox run through our front yard 2 mornings ago.

Aside from that, the typical urban assholes. Raccoons, skunks, opossum, geese, chipmunks and squirrels.

Shockingly have yet to see a deer.

Country...

Most of the usual suspects. I've had deer within 30 feet of the house. Thankfully skunks are very rare.

We had a swarm of monarch butterflies come thru once. That was neat to see.

The urban coyotes in Chicago are wild. We saw a mom and 2 pups in the Soldier Field parking lot last winter. Just holed up in a makeshift den behind a dumpster.

They’re actually good for the community. If you call someone on them, they won’t do anything because they want them out and about

We are big back yard birders.

Close to the house: sparrows, cardinals, catbirds, hummingbirds, blue jays, doves and an occasional blue bird. They are joined in the feeder sometimes by squirrels (black and gray), chipmunks and the occasional raccoon snatching the suet with its human like paws/hands.

Further out back, there are the raccoons, possums, buzzards, hawks, stray cats (👎🏻) , deer (awesome to watch) and my personal friends: my Crows. I have a gang of 3 that know where to get a good meal. They know my face and talk to me. And I talk back to them. They let me get pretty close to them. I treasure their friendship.

My mom's place, they have a ton of birds. They have like 7 or 8 hummingbirds that get into all out wars with each other. It's fascinating to watch.
