Glad they aren't closing the one near us in Canton. We get all of our bulk shopping done once a month at their place.

I'd like to know if you get a refund on your membership if the closest one to you (collective you) shuts down

I would hope, but it might depend on how close the next closest one is.

If there is growth, it's due to Tump's genius and tax cuts.  If there is shrinking, it is Obama's fault and the fault of stupid coorporate executives.  There are no other explanations needed. ;-)

So, Wal-Mart says they're taking advantage of tax cuts to give their employees raises and then closes a bunch of stores immediately afterwards. Just goes to show that people who actually believe in trickle-down economics as remotely effective on anything resembling a consistent basis are really stupid. Dudes at the top of the corporate food chain care about one thing: profit. You give them more of a profit margin and they'll take it -- not actually give it away to workers or anything crazy like that.

Walmart closes unprofitable stores all the time, I highly doubt this has anything to do with the tax cuts. And I doubt the decision to close the stores was made since the tax plan was passed, this has probably been in the works for a while.

Personally I've never heard of Walmart closing stores before, let alone 60+ at one time.

Also, "trickle-down" has no actual meaning in economics, it's a made up political term.

Interesting article; definitely has stuff in it I agree with. With that paragraph being our main problem today coming from the top.

The key is not transferring funds to the currently rich, but ensuring the most competitive economic environment possible so that those with the better ideas can put them into practice. The current owners of capital should not be able to lock in their position by using the political process to enrich themselves by legislation that specifically benefits themselves.
