Hate when my hometown is in the news for horrible things.

Officer Morelli was the resource officer at North High School while I was in HS(I went to South). I know many people who knew him well.

Just a horribly sad and maddening situation.

Turns out Officer Joering is the son-in-law of my office manager at work. I didn’t know him, but (again) I knew tons of people who did. He was a tremendous man from everything I have been told.

Being that my office is directly along 270, we were able to go outside and watch the escort of the bodies to the funeral homes. It was one of the most surreal things I have ever witnessed. First off, literally no traffic on 270 between 315/23 and Westerville Road for 15 min before the procession. And then it seemed like 300(no idea actually how many) police vehicles followed by the 2 ambulances. I had no experienced anything like it in my life.

Is it true that people were calling in to the station claiming they were glad the cops were dead? I saw something alluding to that fact on facebook earlier today. If so, that's extremely messed up.

Yes. Calling in and making jokes and other ridiculously disgusting things.

Smith has been charged with 2 counts of aggravated murder. And now a 2nd man has been arrested for providing the gun for Smith, a convicted felon.

They will be pursuing the death penalty for Smith.

I also just read a tweet directed at one of the local NBC newscasters that was complaining about the station airing the procession today because she wanted to see the Olympics.

“Please, enough already, show some Olympics coverage already. People die everyday. We’re still alive and waiting to watch something other than a pre-funeral procession.”

The escort of the bodies took place around noon. Not only is this comment disgusting, but the TAPED Olympic coverage didn’t even start til 3.

I’d bet they were all black, too.

The proprietor of Route 62 BBQ in Johnstown done messed up. It looks like he deleted their facebook page this morning, it was getting hammered with comments. He made a shitty comment from his personal twitter account and the market is reacting, swiftly. I'm curious if the business survives his lapse of judgement.

That's just monumentally moronic. Like, on levels I find hard to even comprehend words to describe.
